540YMX
Just acquired a 2 month old A3 quattro 3.2 with the DVD Nav system and been messing about with the SD card readers and MP3 cd-player. Noticed a couple of odd quirks and wonder if anyone else is getting the same. When using a very simple file structure I can't scroll to different folders (albums) as the display only shows the current folder at the top of the screen and then a list of songs in that folder like this ..\Album1 Song 1 Song 2 Song 3 To access any other folder I need to flick through each song until I get to the end of the list and then it jumps to the next folder. If I create playlists I can see these and can select which one I want but doesn't show a list of songs. The manual clearly shows the ability to navigate along the lines of ..\Album 1 Song 1 Song 2 ..\Album 2 Song 1 Song 2 Probably not explained it very well and perhaps should post some pictures to clarify. Booster
Welcome I've got the same system and I do the following: Create a new folder and give it the artist's name; create another folder inside that one and give it the album name. I then drag and drop the songs inside, direct from Windows Media Player. You can then get the album list up on the display by pressing the "return" button once (or maybe twice - can't remember without actually doing it). Cheers

[/ QUOTE ] Yes know that one - you don't have restructure the folders or anything like that....trust me. As you have noted when you start to play one off the MP3 cards it always opens the 1st Album and plays track one, correct? To see all the other albums just press the RETURN key once, the Display will change to display all the Albums you have loaded. Use the main control knob to scroll down the albums - press the knob in to select the album/track you want. Job done! Really easy - and not clear at all (thanks Audi). thejp
Anyone else a bit disapointed at the speed at which mp3s fast-foward? If you have a long file, forget it, you're done... it FFs at probably twice normal speed, I can definitely see every second on the display, it just goes by faster... cd, on the other hand, FFs as one expects, it jumps foward in certain amounts... BobF
I agree with Booster's comments - just transfer the tracks to the card using Window's Media - I didn't do anything else and get all album and track names in perfect order - even displayed on the DIS! I have got a 1Gb SD card at present and it works fine despite the lower limit being specified in the manual - anyone managed to get a 2GB card to work? Cupramax
What speed cards are you using? The high speed ones are supposed to be better...

[/ QUOTE ] Fujitsu high speed 1GB... cost me an extra 30% too... what I've been doing is just making folders and using mp3 splitters to split up these long files (usually DJ sets) into manageable 5 min tracks... I get a small click between tracks, but hell, I can fast foward effectively
540YMX
All working as expected now, the return key was probably the only one I had not tried and I did actually read the manual for a change and don't recall it being mentioned. Many thanks!
Booster
I found out about the return botton from the ICE forum on here. I don't think it mentions it in the manual. How are you finding the car in general, apart from thirsty?

Re the comment about 2Gb cards, no I haven't tried them yet - I'm using 2 of Ebuyer's Kingston £30 1Gb cards right now - works really well.... There are rumours of 4Gb SD cards...... paulredpath
I have been using 2GB SD cards for a few months from expansys, work fine http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=118581 They also have 4GB cards in stock, but haven't tried them yet. Dandle
Not worth using 4GB cards as the RNS-e will only recognise around 520 files in each card slot no matter how many are on the card(a file being a folder or track). At 192kps you will get about 500 mp3s onto a 2gb card. So the 4gb would still only ever give you another 20ish tracks at most.
