2.0T FSI quattro S-Line Limited Edition

Gave up looking for a sensibly priced 54 plate 1.8T S-line quattro with the "right" spec and have just ordered the B7 2.0 TFSI Quattro S line Special edition.

Just been loaned a "standard" 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-line, by the dealers, for the weekend and just noticed something. On my existing B6 SE, the interior aluminium trim also includes the area surrounding the gear stick and the front ashtray. On the standard S-Line, this is just plain black plastic.

Is this the case on the Special Edition, or did I miss something from the options list?

Cheers,

Matthew

I've just been back through the current price list and can't find anything I missed. Getting worried now. It looks really strange having just left my B6 with the door, dash and centre console/gear stick surround in matching aluminium trim and then getting into the B7 S-Line with aluminium door and dash trim but just plain black plastic around the gear stick. Will try and call in tomorrow and check with the dealer. Failing that, time to raid the parts bin at VAG-Parts again, me thinks.

It's a great car, this 200PS quattro. Can't wait for the full powered Special Edition to arrive. Only another 12 weeks to go. frown.gif

Cheers!

Hi Bub,

I was primarily looking for 190PS S-Line quattro, ideally 54 plate, full black leather, either RNS-E or Symphony (to replace with RNS-E), heated seats, auto dimming/dipping everything, rear parking sensors. Needed to be in one of the silvers or greys.

Found a couple in some other colours that were close on the spec. But the main dealers all seem to be running a nationwide cartel on the prices at between 18,995 and 19,995. Local dealer was even selling an earlier 03 plate Misano red 1.8T 190PS quattro limited edition at 18,995.

Decided that if I was going to be spending close to £20k, that I might as well get a new one to my exact spec and with the benefit of a full 3yr warranty (not to mention the increased power and suspension improvements on the B7).

Took a while to convince myself about the front grille on the B7 and probably still prefer the looks of the B6 but it's growing on me by the day (with the exception of the steering wheel which I definitely prefer in the old B6 S-Line style).

Yeah, I know what you mean. Feel wise, it's great - really comfortable to grip and feels like it might also be slightly smaller in diameter. It's just the centre that spoils it. Might be a styling cue too far!

Still, that'll be the least of my worries if I'm driving around staring at the centre of the steering wheel and not the road ahead.

Cheers,

Matthew

I know they seen to try to keep the prices as high as they can on the forecourts... That's a pretty high spec though...

I thought mine was pretty high!! blush.gif

I don't think the B6 Sat Nav's were RNS-E... Oh and the B6 S-Lines had special 'Speed' cloth and half leather seats. Full leather was NOT an option.

Got to agree about the steering wheel too - the 3 spoke perforated leather one on mine is a great 'wheel. The later ones had a S-Line badge too. 169144-ok.gif

Ahhh, that'll be a problem.

I thought full leather was an option on the S-Line's. Maybe I just assumed that was available, based on the spec of the fully loaded 1.8TQS special that I took out for a test drive from the dealer. Price of it aside, the original owner had unfortunately chosen full mid-grey leather and burr walnut interior trim, which just didn't suit the car. It even had SatNav plus but I didn't want to pay the premium, only to replace it with RNS-E. The used sales guy at the dealer didn't raise any issues with the requirements though.

Maybe I was just sub-consciously preparing myself for going the brand new route!

Cheers,

Matthew

Just came back from the dealer and they're not sure whether the Limited Edition comes with the "full" aluminium trim. They haven't seen one themselves, as yet.

Hopefully somebody will be able to confirm over the next few weeks as the Limited Edition's start to get delivered.

The dealer has quoted 12 weeks delivery for mine, although he said they may be able to play the system a little and get it a bit sooner by adjusting some of their existing production slots for their stock cars. Not holding my breath though.

Cheers,

Matthew

Yeah, I'm not convinced myself. Could well be a case of Sales Speak.

They did say they had ordered the car on the "system" yesterday and should be able to give me a build week by the end of next week. He said it may well be earlier, as they're currently receiving cars from the factory that weren't due for delivery until mid-Feb (which may be a clue as to A4 sales at the moment). I just want to know when it's likely to arrive, so I can book a holiday to the Maldives in April (that was what it cost me in bribes to the wife for not whingeing too much about the cost). Don't fancy taking a two day old car to Heathrow and leaving it with some dodgy meet and greet parking service for two weeks.

Hope you get some confirmation on your's in the near future!

Cheers,

Matthew

Mine went on the system about 2 or 3 weeks ago and it was given a provisional build week but I was told not to take any notice of it. I have rang every 2 or 3 days since as I don't trust them to ring me, but to date, they reckon it's still not confirmed.

If mine slips into April, I can hand the keys over to mine so I don't have to tax it and give it it's first MOT, and they'll give me a car until my arrives.

I would prefer it if it just arrived on time though crazy.gif

I should have known it wouldn't be that easy. Salesmen; you've gotta love 'em! Probably just told me that to get me out of the showroom after he'd taken the deposit.

I'll keep on at them and see if they do give me a real "confirmed" build date.

That's pretty bad on the part of your dealer if they still can't give you a real date after waiting for 7/8 weeks. I hope this doesn't mean this model has been a runaway success and that they're now going to a) up the price, b)reduce the spec, or c) withdraw it altogether. It does say whilst stocks last on the Audi site. Though how they can have a "stock" of what is a factory build model, I don't know. Still, I hope that now the order is official they can't say "sorry, no longer available".

Good luck on yours and keep us posted, when you get a date.

Cheers,

Matthew

I know how you feel though, I went looking for s/h 1.8TQ sport Avants and didn't find much. Then one day I popped into my local dealer. BIG mistake! They had an Akoya S-Line Avant in the showroom...........

Good luck with the new one, I'm sure the time will fly by 169144-ok.gif

Did they give you book value for your trade in or above book value combined with the big discount on the new?

I got what I considered to be a reasonable price. I had some good info off someone on here (Booster 169144-ok.gif) who has access to Glasses Guide. He gave me the p/ex value for mine at the beginning of December and using the historical data, he worked out a p/ex value for March. I was offered £100 over this which was OK considering the very low mileage and superb condition it's in wink.gif

I'm reasonably happy with the p/ex but I will still advertise it privately for a few hundred more if only to stop them making a tidy profit on it.

It's one of the two main guides used by the motor trade. A few people on here get it/ have access and will get you a price if you ask nicely.

Alternatively you can pay at Glasses web site. Having there value puts you in a much more informed position as to true value of your car when negotiating.
