imran999
What items are included in the lighting pack? Vanity Mirror Lights, Puddle lights in doors, Footwell Lights, LED ambient lights, anything else? Seems pretty expensive for 3 sets of lights and 2 leds. If you spec the front armrest, does it include the under armrest lights on that, or do they only come with the light pack? How much does the armrest cost to retrofit? Im pretty shocked that the car does not include vanity mirror lights or lockable glove box. Funnily enough, adding the lighting pack and storage pack, adds £240 quid to the price. All these things come free on my dads Mercedes C Class and it was cheaper than the A4!
Phantom
From a B6 perspective, this has been discussed many time before, to the nth degree in some cases !, but yes Audi should include the lighting pack FOC IMHO. I think the vanity mirror lights come with the lighting pack along with rear footwell lights as well. I think the pack is a great addition to the car as it makes a difference to the nighttime ambience. As for the armrest, if you can afford it get it factory fitted as there have been stories on here that some dealers have bodged up the installation. I have the armrest and lighting pack too and yes there is a light in the armrest but not sure if it comes with the armrest as standard or as part of the light pack. If you do a search on here you should be able to find more information about these two things, Good luck
Sponge
I advise you check the cost to retro fit items compared to specifing them in the first place, i.e. factory fit. One of the reasons I decided against cruise control on my order was I thought I could get it fitted cheaper afterwards. I was wrong. It actually worked out £10 more expensive! I think the cost to purchase the centre arm rest is very close to having it fitted from factory too.
Nelson_R32
The cost to fit the Centre armrest after factory is actually more. The factory option is £140.00 Audi do offer an Accessory armrest 'kit' (only available in Soul Black cloth) for £140.00 but you do obviously have to pay for fitting/fit it yourself. Not able to lock it manually though. It doesn't have the storage or luggage packs either.
Sponge
I just checked my price list guide effective July 2005, which was the one I was given prior to making my order, and it states under Storage Pack - lockable glove compartment. /me shrugs I often wonder about cars with no obvious means of locking the glove box. It's usually a condition of motor insurance that items are hidden, which includes placing them in a locked glove box. I'm now in the habit of locking the glove box as I'm sure they'd wriggle out of paying up if something was stolen and it wasn't.
