ChriS3
I've still got mine.IMHO it's the best colour for an S3 - Love it to bits...
Paul
I think the last Noggy S3 i saw in motion was Hopsta's! that was a while ago!
s3geezer
[ QUOTE ] IMHO it's the best colour for an S3 [/ QUOTE ] I disagree - It is soooo Misano Red .......! (Ferrari red doesn't count as it was a one off, but otherwise it would be that)
ChriS3
Paul had a good un, but noggy blue is the original RS colour.
Paul
Noggy would have to be a tie for 2nd on my list if i swapped im afraid boys. Misano/Ferrari first Noggy/Avus second. Black is not my first choice, or even second, It was already spec'd, and you couldnt order S3's any more, let alone get one this loaded on a late plate. But it is the most popular colour by all accounts, and does look stunning when its gleaming. Just a pig to keep it that way! Funny enough its the one car i have kept the longest, and have covered the most miles with.
ChriS3
Black might not be your first choice, but your car does look exceedingly good. Isn't black just as hard to keep clean? Any why haven't you got an album in the gallery Paul? Your car looks damn good.
s3geezer
My S3 is black too!

Paul
It does, thank you ! many hard hours graft, ontop of a swissol professional valet every year. Ive always built my pics into posts, rather than use the gallery. And then cross link them, when something pops up. ie.. Artistic.. Danksy and myself. and my Favourite Swissol Shiney
ChriS3
The Swissol does make things bling. I was trying to hunt down some of your pics showing the Samco hoses - needed a little inspiration before my trip to Star Performance last week (ended up getting black Forge hoses instead). ChriS3
Sweet! Although it makes me think that noggy hoses on a noggy car might be a little OTT.
Paul
I like to think ive put quite a few informative posts up, including lots of reasonable pics. Ie samcos, Dv, brakes, Swissol, N75/N249/Maf (vagcom forum) etc etc My gallery would be massive by now!
s3geezer
As I have a black S3 where is this Swissol stuff from (shop wise) and how do you use it?
Paul
re the hoses, I thought Black hoses had the white samco written all over it anyway, so i thought sod it, get the blue ones. No point hiding them. They havent moved at all since i fitted them. Expensive, but given me hassel free motoring.
ChriS3
The Forge hoses seem identical, but they're supplied with the thin little jubilee clips. Should get the Minaba clamps next week. Blue hoses look the dogs on a black car!
Paul
Forge commissioned the orginal 1.8T kit through Samco. Im not sure whats happening with samco recently, ive been hearing people are struggling to get the kits, and been going to other companies like SFS, who staff previously had something to do with samco. so they are probably identicle. My Clips are JCS HiGrip Marine grade stainless steel. I thought about the Mikalor clamps www.mikalor.co.uk but you cant fit them in some places because the bumps on the pipes thats for retaining the hoses. The JCS you can give some serious grief to and they havent moved one bit. They are also not so fussy on sizes. The Mikalor ones you have to be pretty accurate with sizes and get them within their range.
ChriS3
Aparently, Forge no longer supply Samco hoses. Not really surprising if they're making their own. The Mikalors look good, but I see what you mean about the bump. I might try a mix of both them and the Minabas. Cheers for the linky
Paul
Sorry S3Geezer, ive oly just realised i popped your reply in the wrong post. [ QUOTE ] you can buy it direct it does take a little gettting used to, but once you do the results are brilliant. Sparingly is the key. Little and often (ie pad to pot) goes one hell of a way. discussed here The wax in the pictures is Onyx. Its circa £40 a pot, but will last you 2+ years. I have only just started to see the bottom of my pot nearly 3 years on!, used on two cars. Ill probably try the next step up next. Saphir at £60 a pot. Its still cheaper than the equivalent amount of Autogleam over the same duration. And doesnt give the white dust, or stain plastics. Btw the only other swissol product i buy is the clay bar. So dont get scared off my buying into the whole swissol branding, it isnt all necessary. Links discussed in this post. [/ QUOTE ]

ChriS3
Seeing as this thread is already all over the place; Paul-S3, just as a side thought, we often use stainless worm-drive jubilee clips at work. Very similar to the ones you've used for your hoses. Generally we install them on pipe seals offshore on the oil rigs. Problem is that the screws that hold everything together are often made of carbon steel, and therefore rust rather quickly. Might be worth keeping an eye on them. Drillslinger
Since y'all have already gone OT... According to Forge USA they quit supplying Samco hoses because they weren't being supplied quick enough and Samco was talking about upping their prices, etc. Forge decided to go ahead and make their own, improving upon the existing design.
