Jevon1
Just installed a new head Unit (with USB & SD sockets!!). Problem is that when I remove the key the unit forgets the radio stations I have programmed in? However, it does remember the place the CD had reached and continues from the same place - bit weird? Which wires do i need to sort out to get full memory working? The previous stereo was not the original unit either but did have full memory function and used 2 ISO blocks which meant the new stereo was a straight swap (or so I thought) One block has all the speakers, the other I presume is power. MattS3
There should be a red and yellow power lead coming from the back of the stereo, one is permament live the other is switched by igniton. You should beable to swap these over through the bullet connections, that should fix your problem. Happy to stand corrected by anyone else though. (Just had 2 pioneers in old cars with the same problem previous) Cheers
mb
That's probably what it will be. Make sure you test before swapping - as newer cars use Canbus. The wiring diagram should say if it expects permananent or ignition live down the wire then just test with a test lamp or meter.
