Roswell
After removing my glovebox to fit the Phatnoise system, the airbag warning light on the dash is now constantly lit. Can anyone confirm whether or not the airbags will operate with this light on? Is there anyone in the Glasgow area who has Vag-Com and would be able to reset the warning light for me? Thanks. harddrive
I don't think it will... You will need to get it reset by your dealer or with a VAG-COM cable. The best thing to do if you need to remove the glove box is to switch off the airbag with the key. Turn on the ignition so the car picks up that you have turned it off. Then switch off the ignition and then remove the glove box. After you have finished reinstalling the glove box switch the airbag back on and the light will go out. This way should save you a trip to the dealer.
DukeDesmo
Are you sure the connector is on properly on the back of the Glovebox (Airbag disable switch and glovebox light) - My A3 had a new glovebox under warranty and the Dealers had not connected everything back right as the light didn't work. I've had the glovebox out of mine 3 or 4 times and never had this problem. Remove the Glovebox and double-check the connectors
