collease
The normal ranting post on here usually involves chavs or twats that think there car is fast whaen its not. But i have noticed over the last week that its not restricted to these people. I have seen a bloke in a TVR snaking his way up the A47 after obviously coming off the roundabout to fast. I have had celicas and M3's overtake me dangerously on hills with blind bends and now i have had a bloke in a octavia RS try and run me off the road while overtaking coming the otherway. Is it just me or has the steriotype of the loonatick in a nova now started to come to an end?
sayerbloke
[ QUOTE ] Is it just me or has the stereotype of the lunatic in a Nova now started to come to an end? [/ QUOTE ] No... that still happens as well. Maybe it's a case of we're now so strongly regulated on how we drive, that people will take a chance to rebel against it whenever they get a chance to. BenjaminTDI
I see maniacs in all sorts of cars, mpvs, saloons, hatchbacks, 4x4s, there are some right lunatics about! Just best to stay away from them really mate!
collease
perhaps im looking at it the wrong way perhaps i bring out the worst in people
BenjaminTDI
It depends how you drive mate, if you are an aggresive driver it's only a matter of time before someone does the same back to you, and usually it's worse.
collease
no not aggresive fast sometimes but i never tailgate and wait for a very senserble gap to overtake. I just mean that if they are in such a hurry me driving at the speed limit will p**s them off something cronic.
BenjaminTDI
I usually drive the speed limit too, and when people get very close behind me and overtake when it's not safe, it really pisses me off. I hate to see dangerous driving.
garcon magnifique
I'm beginning to think our perception of driving has been sanitised a little over the years. There always were lunatics on the road, it's just that we notice them more now. Or perhaps they stand out more because everyone else is scared of speed cameras. I recommend a few days driving round Paris (moderate), Rome (advanced) or Mumbai (extreme) to anyone who thinks our lunatics are bad! Once upon a time, encountering a lunatic like that would anger me. Sometimes I'd even chase them and cut them up or something to "teach them a lesson". Stupid. These days I just let them get on with it - I'd far rather they were in front of me, cos then I can see them, and their impending accident is less likely to involve me. collease
done the paris lunacy was rather fun but the not stopping at red trafic lights is a thing i can do without.
Sparticus
Hired a car in naples, now they are barking, was a nervous wreck after 10 mins. I think some people believe in the advertising of the car too much. They see it driven as if it was stolen and therefore when they own one they do the same.
