I was wondering if the the two rear windows, the ones past the C post, were heated? They seem to have the elements running through the glass, but when I defrost the rear window, these stay the same, frosty!

Don't forget the alarm wires too! Smashing the quarter glass breaks the wire circuit, tripping the alarm. 169144-ok.gif

I thorght the two vertical lines on the rear screen were the radio Antennas, and the side were the TV tuner, Car Unlock and alarm antenna's. This is certianly the case on the A6.

On the A4 the entire rear screen is a combined antenna and heater element - the choke that filters out the radio signal is a common failure that causes rubbish radio reception.

Dave - would the fault that you're talking about result in rubbish reception all the time, or only when the heated rear screen is on?

I have an issue whereby my radio reception craps out when the heated rear screen is on. I also have one element of the heater which has failed somehow, so I don't know if my reception issue when the heater is on is due to the failed element wire or due to the issue that you're talking about.

Any ideas?
