Redavant
I was wondering if the the two rear windows, the ones past the C post, were heated? They seem to have the elements running through the glass, but when I defrost the rear window, these stay the same, frosty! Anyone know??
Philbes
The elements are the radio aerial.

Smashing the quarter glass breaks the wire circuit, tripping the alarm. Ian
Scotty
A back from the dead thread. I thought my B8 Avant's rear quarter windows weren't defrosting as expected today....and so I Googled and found this thread.
PetrolDave
The elements are the radio aerial. And glass break detector wires connected to the alarm - which is why there are two circuits on each glass.
Cockney Boy
I thorght the two vertical lines on the rear screen were the radio Antennas, and the side were the TV tuner, Car Unlock and alarm antenna's. This is certianly the case on the A6.

This is certianly the case on the A6. On the A4 the entire rear screen is a combined antenna and heater element - the choke that filters out the radio signal is a common failure that causes rubbish radio reception. S4_marv
Dave - would the fault that you're talking about result in rubbish reception all the time, or only when the heated rear screen is on? I have an issue whereby my radio reception craps out when the heated rear screen is on. I also have one element of the heater which has failed somehow, so I don't know if my reception issue when the heater is on is due to the failed element wire or due to the issue that you're talking about. Any ideas?

S4_marv
It sounds like that's my issue then. Do you know how easy it is to resolve?

S4_marv
Thanks mate. I found this: http://www.audicrazy.com/B6A4/Bentley_Audi_A4_B6_Radio.pdf Which seems to indicate that it's in the left side compartment in the boot. I'll have a gander at the weekend when it's light.
