Smiddy
Car went in for its clutch repair on monday and tuesday last week and I went and picked it up on tuesday night about 5:30 so it was dark, car looked nice and clean, did a few 100 miles before the weekend so the car was dirty again by the next morning. anyway after giving the car a wash on sat. i noticed that BOTH front wheels are scratched to hell , straight on the phone to the dealer but there was none of the service people in, spoken to them today and sent them the pictures they pritty much sounded like they didnt beleave that they could of done it so they want to see it in person on friday. Link to a pic of the drivers side wheel Link to pic of the passenger side wheel the pictures are quite big when they first load.
Milo
They're horrendous! Assuming they were unmarked before hand, I can't see how they thought they'd get away with it. The only way I can see that's happened is they've had your wheels off and turned them upside down to use as a seat when they've worked on your car. I have the same wheels and know that the wheels rest on the spokes not the tyre when you turn them like that. The scratches are not from kerbing as a lot of them are straight. I reckon some junior has had your wheels off and used them as seats, scuffing them around the floor as they adjusted their 'seat'. Was it at an Audi dealer? Sponge
I was going to say, that doesn't look like the sort of damage you get from a simple kerbing! Good luck. I hope they don't try to wriggle out of it. IMO, you shouldn't have to go over a car with a fine-tooth comb looking for damage when you collect it from a garage. So the fact you left the garage doesn't necessarily mean you accept it's damage free and prevent you from making a claim at a later date - but it's proving it wasn't you, or more to the point, that it was them. Smiddy
the rims were pritty much unmarked when they went there only one of them had a mark on the verry out side of the rim, that was the dealer and like you say was probly some rookie taking them off! It was pitch black when I went to get the car so i wouldnt of spotted it anyway, was till I was washing it on sat that I spotted it, the car get dirty pritty quickly anyway. It was Taunton Audi that the car went to, a proper audi dealer, they have had the car before with no problems
shark_90
Like Milo says, it's definately from when they've been rested upside down on the spokes. That's disgraceful. Give 'em both barrels, I'll come in with you if you like I'm always around Taunton these days.
Smiddy
well its going in friday should be there round 5:20-5:30, im only up the road so doesnt take long to get there, sounds like its the boss man who wants to see them, I dont think they got a hope in hell of getting out it im not gonna let it rest that would probably cost around the ÂŁ120 mark to get them done. If the dealer says no then Ill ask for the name of every engineer that touched the car and the people that washed send everything off to Audi UK including pics and log a nice big complaint against there dealer which I doubt Taunton Audi will like too much then tell them ill take it somewhere else next time where they will take care of it properly and there engineers dont sit on the rims When i said to the guy the only way i can discribe it is that they have been put on the floor face down, he said well there pro' they wouldnt do that! almost to say your lieing! AntW
thats pretty bad. I honestly don't see how they could wriggle their way out of that one. I would be tearing them all a new one if they did that to mine! Its one thing scuffing your own alloys as you know it was you, but when some one else has done it! BenjaminTDI
That is nothing short of shocking mate. What a mess they have left you with. If I were you I'd get them refurbed and forward the bill. I went to taunton audi yesterday because I was in dire need of some 0W-30, their reply was 'sorry sir the service department isn't open today'. I mean wtf, they don't take the stock home with them do they? absolutely useless. Keep us updated I would be interested to hear what result you get (if any) from them. S3ENVY
That'awful, they should sort that out quick smart! Just be firm with them! I had the drivers door lock mechanism on my S3 replaced not so long ago by a certain North London Audi Stealer, their service had been excellent upto this point. Picked up my car, as usual, clean inside and out (rather they didn't wash it to be honest but anyway)....drove it home happily in darkness, the next morning went to get in and noticed that they'd sratched the out of the black window frame right down to the metal. Went straight back in there and demanded they fixed it, was given all the usual bull, "can't see how we would've done that", service guy calls the tech, "do you remember scratching that S3 yesterday?" - "no scratches when I saw it!". So I scratched down to the metal with my t-shirt on the way out did I? ......ultimately, I demanded they remove the whole window section and respray it or I'll log a complain with Audi UK. Was done withing two days, spotless! You don't expect that sort of service with your pride, joy and alot of money. Don't worry, they're pretty much obliged to fix it, might get a free service out of it too!
Smiddy
Makes me laugh when they say ill speak to the techy, like he is going to admit that he made a couple ÂŁ100 worth of damage to a customers car, at least its the manager taking a look at them when i take it in, if he trys to get out of it ill just lay in to him and tell him if they dont fix them i will report it to Audi uk and log a nice big comlaint against them. I will let you guys know what happens soon as i get back on friday, if they care about the customers then they will put it right.

I went to the see the guy (Neil) and his manager who want to see the wheels yesterday took me 40mins to get there because of friday traffic but i was there when i said i would be and guess what! Neil and his manager have left for the day this is at 5:20 they dont close to 6! they wont be back untill tuesday. do you guys think i should phone the nice people at Audi UK and complain to them about Taunton Audi has done to my rims and there total incompetence before tuesday or wait and see what they have to say for them selfs? seaco
I have a squeeky noise that sounds a bit like a cricket and it's been back to Audi Taunton twice now and it's going in again on the 13th. when I last phoned (Darren head of servicing) I explained that I was thinking of getting onto Audi UK about my problem and he actually thanked me on three seperate occasions during the conversation for not doing so, which makes me think that they don't like you to take it a stage further! I personally think your wheels will be sorted by them as it's so obviously not been caused by kerbing...

[/ QUOTE ] If they can't give you their full attention after you've given them your business, and they did this damage to your wheels, they need their attention re-focusing ---- i.e. ring Audi UK and tell them not only about the damage but the lack of customer service, not keeping appointments, the time you gave up going back to the garage, etc. That should re-focus Taunton Audis attention.....when they get a phone call from Audi HQ on Monday morning
Hudson
Having only come to the world of Audi recently i am not surprised that even Audi dealers do employ ''spanner monkey's'' to service and repair customers vehicle. I hear time and time again that the company or another or that dealer or another are very good... it's not the building or the name or the equipment that is good, it's that single individual that dealt with your car, tv, washing machine etc... and in all organisations there are good people and half-wits, it is often pot luck which you end up getting. Smiddy
I have decided to give Taunton Audi a chance but only one, I sent an email yesterday (see below) it is now 10:14am and no call yet, Audi customer services dont close 6pm and i finish work at 5 today, if he doesnt call by 5pm I will be calling Audi UK and dropping him in it, I think the email is fair and polite and proof to Audi UK that I have given them more then one chance to respond. Copy of email: Hi Neil, Last Monday I spoke to you about scratches on my front wheels of my A6 after the car had been in to you on Monday the 23rd to Tuesday the 24th you asked me to bring the car in to you last Friday the 3rd so that your manager could see them in person which I had no problem with and told you that I would be there just after 5pm for you and your manager to see them. When I arrived at your garage on Friday at 5:15pm I was told that both you and your manager had left for the day and would not be back in until Tuesday this week, I wasted close to 2 hours that day driving to and from Taunton and left work early to be there on time and was a bit disappointed when you nor your manager was there, please contact me when you are in on Tuesday you can phone my mobile on 077******, I do have appointments in the morning but if you leave a message I will call you back. If I don’t hear from you by the end of Tuesday I will be speaking to and forwarding this email to Audi UK to see what help they can offer with this issue. Regards,
