sufu
not sure about this but i think they're in the door pillars, right at the top in what looks like a vent, but like i said im not too sure...
Mo-S3
I dont recall any relays being in the engine bay. Most are located below the fusebox in the car. Sufu is right they are mounted at the top of the b-pillars on both sides.
jnash
i said relays because somewhere i noticed someone has said that lumber support fuses and relays are in the engine bay, any one got lists of the relays in the dash 98 a3 thanks
S3ENVY
Yeah, the motion sensors are at the top of the door pillars behind the vented area. If you're really silent and activate the alarm while inside the car you can hear them pulsing!......until the alarm deafens you that is...... Mo-S3
stick you head in the boot where the siren is located and it still wont deafen you. Way too quiet for an alarm siren... its pants
s3geezer
I haven't tried setting mine off yet - what does the S3 alarm sound like? Is it a hoot hoot hoot one, or a weor weor weor (sireny noise)?

Is it a hoot hoot hoot one, or a weor weor weor (sireny noise)? [/ QUOTE ] It's a strange one, pretty quiet actually with a kind of metallic beep....I'm sorry I have no idea how to describe it! Go out and find another S3 and rock it about until the alarm goes off!
