s3geezer
Weird question but where do you all keep your Audi Service wallets in your S3. The place that the service book states (under the steering wheel) doesn't fit! The glovebox has the first aid kit on the top shelf (won't fit in the below bit - even though the book says that's where it goes!) I also have my ice scraper on top and a small maglite, de-icer, Sunglasses and car phone charger underneath. So, that rules the glove box out. The only other place is the door bins. Drivers side has maps and choccie eclairs in and the opening boxy thing has a leather pad and my CD wallet. So that means the ONLY other place is the passenger door bin which it is currently in but if someone gets in the door it bangs on the car sill when they close the door. Where do you guys keep yours? And why the hell as my S3 not get feckin seat back pockets!!! Also, my S3 (2000 / X) has got the interior light pack (under ash tray, lots of light buttons etc on roof in front and back that light up) - was this standard or optional extra when my car was first bought?? Mollox
Standard and I keep mine in my driver's door bin
Wallachie
I keep mine in the glovebox, in the bottom section that you can open. My car doesn't have a first aid kit in the glovebox, it's never had one. If I had no room for it, I would just leave it in the house. As for the light pack, it was standard on the S3. stewarta13wsb
Not an S3 just an A3, but mine is in the passenger door pocket too. CD changer is in the glove box and no room anywhere else!
s3geezer
Ok cool. Do any of your S3s or A3s from my era have seat back pockets? I heard it was an option - is this true?

s3geezer
Yeah but I'm one of those fannies that don't want some LCD thing slapped on my dash board. Unfortunately I only have single DIN slot in my dash. Oh well, maps for me until I can afford a newer S3 with the Audi one in.
Mollox
I was the same too - and I have a single din too (thankfully, as its stuffed full of head unit and RCA cables ) Got the Tom Tom and its the way forward. Trust me

s3geezer
You got a piccie Mollox of your Tom Tom navi set up? Is it hard to fit or best left to the pros?
Mollox
Can you press a sucker against a windscreen and occasionally plug in a cigarette charger? I'll snap one on the weekend but it'll be crap off the phone as we can't find the charger leads for the camera
s3geezer
Is that all it is??? My S3 didn't come with a lighter - it came with a socket though. Is that normal or has some thieving gyppo stolen mine.

s3geezer
Yeah - you're right. I'm going to take mine out too. More room for sweets and less weight. *********************************************************** My top tip for this sort of weather is cadbury's choccie eclairs for when you need chocolate and Maynards Wine gums for when you're hungry.A very close runner up are those Moam Stripes (chewy frit stripes). 540YMX
It was suggested to me during a previous car purchase not to keep the service booklet in the car in case the car is stolen or broken into, it makes sense to me as service intervals can easily be a year apart and only once did I forget to take it with me but no problem having it stamped a few days later.
