NewNiceMrMe
In Dakar Yellow. That's a rare beast if ever there was one. In fact I've never seen one in that shade before. It was on the Northbound side in traffic as I was on the Southbound side, so I never got to snap it with the camera phone. However, it looked just like this.. Wallachie
I still adore the M Coupe.......one of the best cars BMW has ever produced, and IMO one of the nicest looking, especially the rear view/rear quarter view! Has to be black or estoril though!
RedRobin
....A BMW hatchback! It's even got quads! If they made that in red I reckon I would have been seriously interested. Is this what the 1-Series is trying to be? Even in yellow it looks very elegant.

RedRobin
Thanks, Mills I don't think I've even seen one. I bet she sounds nice too. A very practical car for someone like me. She's a classic. Someone please educate me - What years was she built in and in what kind of quantity? Straight-Six? Cheers
Wallachie
They're a 2 seater, made from 1998 to 2003. They started their life with the old Evo engine from the previous generation M3, which had some terrible Vanos gearing problems. They were revised and later verions from 2001-on were given traction control and the new E46 M3 engine, which is 324bhp and are known as S54 models. I test drove one last year, and it is simply awesome. The 0-60 time is said to be under 5 seconds, and it certainly feels like that! There are very few of them about, as the majority of people think it's an ugly beast, I think it was voted the most ugly car in the world when it was brought out! It's affectionately known as the BMW breadvan! Go and test one, I guarantee you'll love it! JHT from here used to have a gorgeous silver one, see here: - http://www.tyresmoke.net/gallery/albuq70

They are excellent cars Robin - IMO they feel much more hardore than an M3. Quick too. Very very quick

jimdiesel
Saw a Yellow M Coupe today on the A64 just outside York. Made todays dreary grey day seem a little bit brighter.

Cheers [/ QUOTE ] Straight six 3.2 and as Mills said either 321 or 324 hp and 258 lbft of torque for Europe with the North American market getting only 240hp in theirs Front end including the doors are from the Z3 with the rest being just for the Coupe. Just under 1000 were ever produced in RHD so it is rather special. Just about to buy a black for myself if all goes to plan
