Baldrik
Just been told that I have to wait 2 weeks longer than originally told. Was wondering if this was normal and what the average waiting time from ordering was. Also - as I am have no car at present I am having to pay out for an extra 2 weeks car rental. VW dealership were naturally apologetic but not willing to compensate me for my unexpected expense. I guess I can't do much about it.....
stevie_d
Waiting time is a random event unfortunately I've been given a build week of 12 and expect to have the car by April, I ordered it about 2 weeks ago. Has your car actually been built and is simply awaiting transport? As VW are usually great at building the car on time, it's VW Transport that sucks and messes things up. silentandy
Baldrick is your car a DSG?
Baldrik
I don't think it has been built yet. I am have ordered it from a German dealer and will pick it up directly from the Wolfsburg factory so delivery time should not be an issue. They just give the impression they couldn't care less that a customer who is paying a lot of money for one of their products will incur more costs due to their inefficiency..... Baldrik
Yes it's DSG. I asked the salesman if this would be a problem when I ordered it just before Christmas and he said there was no problem with the DSG at that point in time. AndyCh
I've been told this morning I've got a delay of 8 weeks ! Originally told I had a week 2 build, and I'm now being told it is a week 10. WTF is going on there?
Baldrik
I saw a documentery about the European economy and Wolfsburg was an example of how the 'old' Europe will have to sort itself out if it is to compete on the global market place. Apparently their working week is only 28 hours - full pay! They should get their finger out!

AndyCh
It will seem an eternity, when I was supposed to get my car about now, only to find it will be the end of March. Baby due at the end of April, so if it's early, I'm in poo street as the Elise won't be up to the job.
