ChrisR32
My sister is emmigrating to Oz and she's pretty sure she's going to be getting rid of her motor and i've got first refusal on it. The other half runs a 'Y' reg polo so it'd be a nice step up for her - and i could potentially get a bit of a good deal on the A3. It's an 03 - 03 Tdi Quattro Sport with BOSE, phone prep, half leather. Approx 40k miles. What do you guys think a reasonable valuation would be - that wouldn't be too much of an insult to either of us?

Booster
Assuming the car is a 3 door its trade value is £11,200 and its retail value is £13,000. However, at the moment with the way the market is hardly anything is achieving book value at trade in. I would approach your local dealer and see how much they'd give you for it and it won't be £11,200. I can see how you want to be fair in what to offer and presumably your sister won't expect you to pay top whack so I'd say £10,250 would be fair. BenjaminTDI
That would be a really nice car for 10k. Chris is it the current shape A3 or the old one?
Zzz
If you dont mind can i butt in and ask for a valution too. Really tempted by the idea of the S3. Booster
No probs! Trade is £13,250 but I'd expect to be offered around £12,500. Chris' sister's car will be an old shape.
