Suggestion to mods

Sorry guys & gals, but the answer will always be no. For a number of reasons.

1) the fact that the MkIV & MkV models have posts running in here makes it impossible for us to move them effectively.

2) there is a massive cross over between the two cars. Ok, new Chassis on the V, but same engine, Haldex etc, so a central knowledge pool is better in one place

3) We as mods are busy enough as it is, but we do frequently get posts in the wrong place, can you imagine the chaos with MkIV posts in the MkV forum and vice versa?

4) The TSN Search facility is a real tool for all people that come on here. Having to search in the one forum will keep things neat, tidy & easier to work with over all.

5) By nature, a good number of people have, or are already making the move up to a MkV from a IV.

I can understand peoples feelings on this, but in the long term it makes much much more sense.

Just as an update to this, Rachel has pointed out the state of things at VW Vortex. Take a look at their VW Domain, it's got so many different forums running and must be a nightmare to administer, let alone view (that's not a criticism aimed directly at VW Vortex btw, I know there are many members with info that we pick up on & find useful).

Also, I have also noticed that we are gaining more members who didn't get a MvIV R32, but have got, or are getting a MvV. If we were to split the two, who would they be asking for advice? Most likely the people in the MkIV forum, which again would mean cross posting & multiple threads. This just means that the value of TSN & it's info gets lost & the forum becomes disjointed.

I hope everyone understands. Any issues, please drop me or any other mod a PM.
