Nokia are sh1te, Sony Ericsson are far better

In your opinion of course! grin.gif169144-ok.gif

It's a subjective thing, but I hate these new phones that look flash but something as basic as displaying the contacts list takes 2 seconds.

e.g CPU power too slow to feed the graphic chip. slap.gif

Tried to find another thread to add to but failed.

Anyway, it's upgrade time - Must be Nokia.

Is the 6680 any good?

Looks okay to me but not 100% sure on reliability.

hey laugh.gif i actually have the 6680 and although it is a tank of a phone ( have dropped it "once or twice" it stil is in perfect condition!)

However, as your on your upgrade i would recommend the N70(my gf has one after my recommendation the_finger.gif), as it is essentially a 6680 with better styling, better resolution camera and better menu layouts!

Also, if your willing to sacrifice the nokia name, the K750 is an excellent choice and if you like the walkman feature the W800 is also suitable! laugh.gif

Extra note: if your the sort of person who wants the very latest in technology, id recommend you wait a bit and get the N80, it is the next logical upgrade to the N70 however as you would probably be getting it as soon as its released .. expect to have 2 pay a lil extra grin.gif

hope that helped 169144-ok.gif

It's a Nokia.

They are like the Volvo of phones

Every Nokia I've had has broken in less than 6 months.

My 8800 has been getting repaired for the last 4 months.

Nokia sucks!

[/ QUOTE ]

how comes?? my dad has had that since umm well november at least confused.gif He took it to india when we went and dropped it on numerous occasions (i think me and him suffer from "dropyafoneitis") and he has had no problems?

On his previous 8850/8910i he suffered screen problems and i think at one point the speaker had broke or something? And my 8210 had screen problems ( which was a common fault with that phone) However these problems only occured after a year or so of use.

If you want a truely indestructable phone your best bet would be one that probably does not have changeable fascias etc as these do get loose over time and allow dust in which then causes further problems!

The camera stopped working, the phone turned itself off randomly.

Then, the screen broke after 3 months of being looked after.

Screen replaced.

Next day, michrophone & charge broke.

Nokia will not repair it due to an 'unauthorised reparair' i.e. a lie to the customer

It is currently having a 'second opinion'

I've had loads of Nokia's, and they've all been shite (along with Nokia customer service). Sony Erricson or Samsung are good IMO 169144-ok.gif

shocked.gif holy feck! thats real bad! luckily enough i've never had that experience but i guess if i had i wouuld agree nokia is not the way forward!

I guess im lucky 'cos i have an authorised repair centre just round the corner and i have a pretty good relationship with them ( have a habit of changing phones every now and again with which they like to play about with)

judging by Mastras determined nokia vote i guess he has had a good experience and so wish him every luck! would love to know wot he gets in the end 169144-ok.gif

Cheers for that - I had missed the N70 but it seems good.

Now to try and stuff Orange on upgrade ccsts - Ringing for the "pack number" and saying you are leaving is a VERY good way of getting them to drop their pants and give a good upgrade cost.

Mines through my company and we have a good credit rating (and pay them on time) so should be able to wangle one free (we are on their band 5 rating - i.e. spend too much but pay on time).

Highly dull (as usual) but I was being offered crap deals through Orange - Had to be 18 month contract, had to pay a load for the N70, etc -to upgrade (via the company) so asked for the pack number (meaning you want to leave), spoke to a customer retention guy and they quite literally dropped their mobile pants.

Doubled my talk time (for less money), chucked in a stack of texts for free and gave me a Nokia N70 (for free on a 12 month contract- Yee haa!

It pays to be a moaning tw4t!
