Mook
Check my post in the tech forum in response to your thread RS. BTW, it's not a V6 (OK, it is) - it's an R32
rs32
cheers Mook (and Decked), I knew I could rely on a quick response and don't worry, I know what it is, just didn't want to make it MK5 specific. I'll accept the with good grace though
Biscuits
Hi ya, DON'T WORRY ! This is typical of Audi/BMW twin exhausts. If the R32/4Motions are the same as the Audi A3/A4 v6/v8's then you will have a little device in the silencer to reduce the noise for Euro drive-by emmissions. See the attached diagram for the S4. My mates A3 3.2 Quattro has the same vacume operated flap. Both of us have pulled the vacume pipes off, popped a screw in the pipe end(s) to avoid dirt ingress and the sound is much better over stock now ! Thanks to Milltek for the picture
rs32
cheers Paul, that's a good pic, understand more about it now with yours & Mook's descriptions and the picture combined. TSN teamwork yet again!! will start to open the engine up properly soon so I'll keep an eye on how they both darken over time.
