Dan32
Just wanted to know how easy it is to get to the underside of the aerial base and whether the headlining could be dropped down a little bit to gain access to whatever holds it on. Or does this sound like a recipe for a few more rattles. FYI I don't have a sunroof so might make things easier.
rs32
hi Dan I had this job done on my old Mk4 to fit a DAB aerial. admittedly didn't do it myself, but the stereo techy bloke said it didn't take long to drop down/replace and shouldn't behave any differently in terms of rattles etc. worth calling a stereo place quickly or do you have any mates who work in the trade ? Mook
Danno Long time no hear - where you been..? You just need to take the rubber boot seal off down as far as the top edge of the rear lights. There's a cover which runs the length of the top of the inside of the boot (if you see what I mean). Take this off carefully and you can ease the headlining down to get to the base of the aerial. Fiddly work, but someone's got to do it... Rattles? That's what you've got a Milltek for - to drown them out
Dan32
Cheers Charles. I've been snowboarding in France, hence why I've been quiet! Just enjoying my bruises now! It doesn't sound too bad to drop the lining. Maybe I'll have a crack at it after all. You're right about the Milltek. Drove my brother to the airport without the parcel shelf. Wow! Makes quite a difference.
