Shamrockez
Hi guys, I've got a 99 New Beetle TDi - the 90bhp version. I thought this was the best forum to put this in cos the engine will be the same as the 90bhp Leons. In January he had his 70k service and since then the oil light has flashed and beeped a couple times. It only bleeps once or twice, and flashes once or twice, and goes off and everything's normal. It only seems to happen when the engine is cold. I thought parking him on a slope might have been the problem, but he's done it since he's been on the drive - which is flat. I've checked the oil many times, and it's reading above the ''crease' in the dipstick. He's done about 2000 miles since the service. Does anyone have an idea about what this problem could be? Thanks *Lucy*
andy8oy
I had similar problem with my golf tdi. Coolant Temp beeped and read 0 taking about 10 mins of driving to get up to 90 started happening over the winter took it to garage and turned out it was an electrical fault with the sensor so that might be your problem. Hope this helps, (nice beetle). Andy
Shamrockez
thanks Beetle's don't really have a reading... the light's either on, or off! It only beeps twice and flashes about twice on start up, especially when cold. Looking at tdiclub.com it could be due to the filter being in upside down, and the oil driaing away, and taking a few seconds to return on start up. I'll take it out at the weekend and have a peek.
