harddrive
I got a VAG-COM cable today and tried to recode the car for the RNS-E I followed the instructions and went to the following channel but it comes up with an error saying it can not read the channel 62 STG 17 (Instrument cluster) -> Adaptation -> Function 10 -> Channel 62 I currently have a cable going between the RNS-E and the instrument cluster that I had to connect when I installed the sat nav. Does anyone know why I get this error and/if the cable is the cause??
PetrolDave
What version of VAG-COM are you using? You need to use version 4.01 or later - earlier versions didn't support the higher numbered adaptation channels.

PetrolDave
Just been reading on http://www.navplus.us. On the A3 you need to change the settings on your CAN Gateway, not on the instruments, to enable navigation on the DIS. Try using the long coding helper (built-in to 5.12-1) to see what settings need to be changed.
