richy_uk
Been thinking about it for some time and ran out of AG Shampoo. Went to Halfords and saw the Megs wash and wax pack for under £15 including Gold Class wash, wax and an applicator pad. Gold Class wash is fantastic. Used less than half a bucket where I used to need a full bucket to clean the Boxster, rinsed with a running hose and dried the old boy off. All done in 20 mins. Quickest I've ever washed and dried my car. Then a coat of Gold Class wax with the applicator pad which went on in less than 10 mins - again, for some reason, much quicker than applying AG stuff, used the rest of the wash to do Mrs RichY's car then back to buff off the Boxster. The results were astonishing. The shine was deeper than using AG UDS plus EGP and involved significantly less elbow grease. Considering my car is Silver, that's some achievement. I was suspicious of Megs stuff but can now honestly say it's a definate improvement over AutoGlym.
sayerbloke
I wasn't keen on the Gold Class stuff. I've heard you need to be very precise in your measurement of water/product so maybe I got it wrong. Every other Meguiar's product I've used I've been a fan of. Car's looking good, mate

richy_uk
Oh yes, then my transition to the dark side will be complete once I splash out forty notes for a tub of Souveran.

richy_uk
Got a copy of the Meg's brochure today. Wheel Brightener and the funny conical wheel brush next - it's a real pain having wheels that you have to clean inside the rim. Then when I'm feeling brave, gonna bite the bullet on a tub of Souveran.

[/ QUOTE ] No, he needs Pinnacle Signature Wax for a Silver car - because it's specifically forumalted for lighter colours. Edited to add: Ooops, just spotted that JC said that a few posts later! harddrive
I used the Gold stuff this weekend for the first time. According to the bottle its 4 caps per Gal of water. I made 2 Gallons worth (about 1 bucket full) and needed no where near that much. With just half the amount I made up, I cleaned the whole car including the wheels and it left a fantastic finish
harddrive
I too have been seduced by Meqs Gold.... I can't believe how good this stuff is and how much easier it is to clean with... cheechy
You've left a bit of dirt on your number plate. It looks like you cleaned it but forgot to rince off the suds!

Detailcity
Really nice finish you have. If you are looking for the ultimate finish on silver try some Klasse AIO and Klasse SG topped with Optimum Car Wax. I leaves the car with a nice gloss and better depth, also probably lasts the good part of 4 months or so with just normal washing.
