Petem95
No doubt Audi charge a 'special' price for it? Is it worth buying the same stuff from VW, or is there anywhere online that sells the stuff cheap?
Scotty
They generally don't do touch up sticks now. I was told to buy a can, spray some in the cap and then use a cocktail stick to dab some on....andthat was from a dealer! Instead I went to Halfords who made me a touch up stick on the spot. Avus_Bub
Why does everyone assume that the dealer will be expensive? I got an Audi touch up stick for my car and it was about £7 IIRC. Oh and it’s the right colour..... Unlike Halfords (probably). BUB
allroadman
Most touch up pens are £4.89 +vat for a twin pack with the clear lacquer. Some limited colours they only do it a can but even then it is less that a tenner plus vat.I guess it comes down to if you really want to slap Ford Capri red from Halfords all over your paintwork. Scotty
Oh the mocking of the disbelievers! So what would you do if you were told you can't get Brilliant Red touch up sticks? p.s. I didn't mention price at all so this wasn't a cheap solution. It is however a solution that Audi couldn't supply.

I would’ve used a local paint factor to mix me up a 10th of a litre if no touch up were available. TBH I didn't know Halfords offered a mixing service. Sometimes manufacturers just don’t supply a touch up........ BUB

Is it worth buying the same stuff from VW, or is there anywhere online that sells the stuff cheap? And not in anyway directed to your plight to avail yourself of the red touch up paint!! Scotty
No worries. It wasn't a response to your's directly. Just to all the previous posts. Perhaps I misread it as having a pop at the Halfords solution in which case I apologise.

warrie
be carefull with halfords - i had one mixed for me while i waited and when i got home it was totally the wrong colour. what made it worse was that they didn't believe me and wanted to see my car as proof of the colour!!! i won in the end though, customers always right.
