UBM
Drove relatively safely over 220 miles at the weekend on mainly motorway on a full tank. DIS shows about 480 miles left. Great me thinks. 700 miles from a tank. Two days commuting to work and back (22 miles each way on mainly A roads) and it's back down to 590 from the tank..... I must stop spanking it... BenjaminTDI
I'm having the same problem and I think I may have a cure. If we can compete and try to get 800 miles from a tank? Would have to get well over 50mpg but I think it's possible. Any fuel allowed, games commence at next fillup?
UBM
Hmm...I bet take you. I think 700 might be more realistic though. Next fill up not for about 10 days or more though...
Nelson_R32
I'm getting about 700-735 miles to a tank at the moment. This A4 has really turned me into an old man

Nelson_R32
I commute on the most frustrating road you can ever imagine, so I just lie back and let the Car/Cruise control do the rest Currently getting 50mpg and I can get 71 litres in the tank completely brimmed up. UBM
In a 70L tank? The A1198 is not the best road to commute on either, but I know where the overtaking places are....
Nelson_R32
Like I said, I run it til its running on soot and I brim it up until the fuel is litterly just about to poor out You can easily get an extra litre or two in there by filling up the fuel filler neck
Sponge
I filled up this afternoon, after picking the family up from hospital, with 500miles covered - calculated 35mpg. Oh well!
BenjaminTDI
Well I will be seeing how many miles I can get from a tank at next fill up. Will probably use regular BP diesel.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah but your PD 140 is quicker in everyday driving conditions than say a B6 S line 190, yet you still get 10 miles further to the gallon when hooning. Soapsuds
720 miles is my best. I sort of ran out of road though and had to do a commute 2 and from work over 2 days with that. I recon if i could drive to the south of france or something, i could squeeze 800 miles out of it..... would be boring though!!!
Alastair_A3
never tried it although i normally get around 39-42 mpg. Best out of all the cars ive got. The Sharan averages 25-28, the caterham averages around 10 and the fiesta is in the 30's (when i drive it not my daughter!)
loddrik
I'd be lucky to see 700 mls on TWO tanks of diesel!

Redavant
Have to admit I only get 520 miles out of a tank, 35mpg. When I bought it I thought I would get a lot better. I had a Golf Pd150 before this and I used to get 44mpg with that?? Too much town driving and spanking I think!!

Petem95
Im getting a better than expected 36mpg overall from a 2.0 petrol A4 (B6) - and this is 90% commuting in traffic. On a recent 100mile trip I averaged 43mpg without much effort (still overtaking stuff etc).
Malcolm44
I am averaging 53.6 mpg on 2.0 TDI A4. One tank lasts 14 days traveling back and forth to work (82 mile round trip)
