vindaloo
I've had a few quotes for my forthcoming R & none of the Ins. companies has insisted on a tracker. Make sure you tell them about your extras or better still get GAP,RTI or full replacement insurance
AGK512
Welcome ! I'm sure you'll post some pics when you get your hands on your new pride and joy. Looks like you have the extra rear window tints ..... and as others will know on here i've been craving some pics to the point of being quite sad ! Keithp
Funny you mention that i have just asked the dealer to e-mail me some photos of the car , just to make sure it actualy exists!!! and to see how the tints look . Wil try and post them when they show up. I have just got a quote of £613 from norwich union for a london post code how does this compare with other R32'S in london. xscreamsuk
[ QUOTE ] Hi spec is Five door DSG Deep Blue Pearl Cruse Nav Sunroof Leather Recaros Parking Sensors Winter Pack and Lux pack 2 Rear privicy glass Qne question i have is , does anyone know if you can fit roof bars to the car , it would be nice if i could tythe kids and my mountain bikes on the roof . Stick em on some roller blades holding on to rear wiper, much better. If VW can't help then have a look at the Thule site, they are bound to make something. My best insurance quote has been with Norwich Union, no tracker needed.
Keithp
Their fine on the roof , saves getting their sticky fingers over the recaros!!! I have got a quote from Privalage £454 both with the same excess and no trackers. Keith
Per
I tried a quite with Priveledge and they came in with £785. I'm 41, but do have 6 points that will be off my licence before I get my R32. At that quote level, they are takingthe p*55. Per Need to shop around some more!!
nutkins
PerRSMK2 - don't forget they count the points for 5 years for insurance purposes, don't know if you've taken this into account. Robbing 's
xscreamsuk
£485 Norwich Union 500xs but no courtesy car. £511 Privilege 450 xs with courtesy car. both on 3 points and one no fault accident. No mention of tracker, but the Privilege chap was interested in options, eg soundpack, leather etc.
Per
I had thought of that, so before I get the car, I will speak with the insurers and see what they have to say. I think that what happens is that they look at the points and the level of fine and assess what the conviction was, as a simple SP30 doesn't tell them anything more than exceeding teh statutory speed limit, but the number of points and fine levied does tell them more. Still, I have had one quote at £425, which I put in when it asked what my best quote had been. Surprised that it still came in at nearly double, on the basis of the same info as provided to another insurer. Per
Keithp
I have 3points as well , the privalige guy i spoke to said as long as the extras were fitted at the factory threre was no issue !! It's amazing the difference in quotes even from the same place. Keith
Per
It's not 3 points - more like 6, and a £400 fine Quite a considerably higher speed than should have been (espeically in a MK2 RS2000, mind you it is turbo'd with twin carbs and stripped out )
