rjgreen4
What are the different types of zorsts and what do they do to the noise and performance> Where can I get one fitted and the cost approx near cheshire?
shark_90
The answer to Milltek or not is definately YES! The sound on an S4... I know AwesomeGTi are in Cheshire, they could be your best bet, and I'd imagine around the £750-£800 mark See here for stockists.
lottiefox
Millteks on an S4 are lovely. I can hear JC's before I see it.
Pincher
Ooh yes! Daz has a Milltek cat-back on his S4 cab and it sounds simply divine! If you are after a sweet noise, that is where your money should be going.
Scotty
You might as well buy it now. If you don't then when you do you'll realise how many days you missed out for. Get it asap and get more value out of it.
J_C
I was fortunate enough to find an S4 with a cat-back system already fitted, although I didn't realise this until I went to view it for the first time. The sales chap from the dealership was none the wiser! I have to say that if this hadn't been the case, I probably would've had a system fittged anyway now that I've lived with it for a few weeks. Go for it!
UBM
I'm looking forward to hearing some of these motors...
lmmlmmam
Go for it RJ! I um'd and ah'd for a while and now as Scotty says simply regret that I didn't have it done sooner. Cat back is the starting point which dramatically improves the noise without ever being loud. Go for the full system if you want a bit more noise AND extra performance. The 100mm tips look as well. Money well spent IMO!
rjgreen4
resonating or not?
lottiefox
Having just listened to JC reverse out of my parking spaces and then turn round, I'd say do it very very soon! My 1.8T with BlueFlame sounds so weedy next to it....
shark_90
If you do mileage, you want resonated. If you want it a bit louder, go for non-resonated
Ian_C
For Tyresmoke vs Google reasons, Milltek has two 'l's in the middle as I mentioned the other day in the meets forum. Tyresmoke always rates very strongly on google. Type Ian_C into google and I am third on a world search. In fact, 'Ian_C Autoglass' brings up myself before our recently-retired managing director Ian Carlisle! Ian

Avus_Bub
[ QUOTE ] I can't wait for mine 8 days.. now all I need is the 4.2 V8 engine transplant [/ QUOTE ] Nice one Shark, you'll love it! Who needs a V8 when you can have a 320bhp 1.8t for a couple of grand?! BUB

PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] Who needs a V8 when you can have a 320bhp 1.8t for a couple of grand?! [/ QUOTE ] Someone who enjoys the sound of a 320bhp V8 more than the sound of a 320bhp turbocharged inline 4. There's just no comparison Remember how Lotus got slated in the press when the Espirit had a 4 cylinder turbo engine ("sounds like a cement mixer" said some of the press corps), so they put in a twin turbo V8 with very little power increase (up from 300bhp to 335bhp) and all the complaints about the engine sound stopped! P_G
Plus the fact that it is a 344 bhp V8 which if a full Milltek system is put on go up to a 360+bhp V8 with excellent soundtrack thrown in for free!
Avus_Bub
Easy gents! Owning a V-Twin motorcycle with a full race exhaust system, I know exactly what you mean. The fact a 750 four is just as fast but sounds pants just isn't the point BUB

[/ QUOTE ] There's feck all "for free" about S4 ownership P_G. Also I don't think it'll be long before the 1.8T mob start pointing out that it's actually 344PS not BHP. They get so anal about such details. Guess it matters more when you're starting from 190 .
