NewNiceMrMe
Oh dear, you must feel sooooo humiliated. Driving down from Alnwick this afternoon, this Red '318i' (or at best 320i) with the M3 badges on, the M3 wheels (but the giveaway being the mirrors).... ...overtook a whole line of cars, forcing several vehicles to swerve in the opposite direction, getting flashed at least 4 times that I saw.... ...what a total moron you must have felt when you booted it on the dual carriageway section....and the car on the inside lane put his foot down....and you were left stranded in a trail of dust. Now what was it. Oh yes, that's right, it was a Volvo S80 Diesel (D5). I bet you could have done without him giving you the finger out of his drivers window too eh??? NewNiceMrMe
Well it was hilarious to see in reality. Young lad with a car full of his mates, windows down, overtaking everything in sight like he was Michael Schumacher on an adrenalin rush (minus the skill, naturally). We could see him coming about 10 cars back and fortunately for us he settled in behind us with 2 cars between us before the dual carriageway section came. As the dual lanes arrived my wife said "Don't you dare...".. However, in front of me was the Volvo and he'd clearly seen what had been going on in his rear view mirror just as I had. He timed it to perfection. The BMW got alongside (you could hear the exhaust pitch rising and yelping as he really went for it)...and the S80 must have had his car right in the power band....because...Whooosshhh...off he went, window down, finger came out vertical in the air and then he made the 'w*nker' gesture. The car full of lads did it's best to catch him, but by this point it was obvious he wasn't going to! Eventually it pulled in and we sat a good 200 yards behind it for 2-3 miles. Unfortunately he didn't learn his lesson because as we left the Morpeth dual carriage section he went off on one of his little races again - this time tailing a green Fiat Punto adorned with the usual chav lights and spoilers. We exited at that point and my wife merely said "How embarassing".

The wife hasn't been in the car for a long time either! If I'd have been on my own I wouldn't have bothered anyway - I mean, what would the point have been. I know my car would obliterate his, he knows it, and hmmm, why put it at risk. I tend to only bite these days if it's a car that I think two things of. Either a) that I want to know how well it goes or b) it'd be a match of drivers rather than cars. Anything other than that is a bit boring. I think it's a sign that I'm well beyond that age now. Proving something just isn't high on the agenda I guess. Mind you - if it's a TSN Meet - then it's hell for leather from start to finish!
