ChaiHal
I’ve just realised that my front fogs are on when my headlights are also on. I don't seem to be able to switch them off. The headlight switch has a position for both rear and front fogs, but at the moment it only appears to control the rear fogs. I'm pretty sure that this is something new, I've had the car since December and I seem to remember checking in the past they were working correctly. Before I dive in to find the problem, anyone have any ideas where I should start? My logic dictates starting with the switch, but hey what do I know? shark_90
The legend of hardwired fogs! It could possibly be the switch, but as you say, it's controlling the rear lights correctly. I'd probably still start there by replacing the switch, and then delving further. Do they come on with your sidelights, or only when dipped beam is on? ChaiHal
OK, freshly back from the car park. Front frogs are on with side ligts, dipped lights and main beam. Basically the front fogs are off only when the other lights are off.
shark_90
I had a thought, but I've confirmed it's not that.. try the switch first, failing that it'd need some serious investigation, particularly as you say it's something that's happened recently/since you've had it. ChaiHal
Managed to get the switch out today, but couldn't get it out far enough to disconnect the cables at the back of it. So I just put it back in and now the fogs function correctly. Looks like I may have a dodgy switch, but as it's working OK at the moment I'll leave it alone. fingermouse
been thinking about swapping the wires on mine so the rears come on first.
Mo-S3
[ QUOTE ] been thinking about swapping the wires on mine so the rears come on first. [/ QUOTE ] The current set up with the fronts on first and rears on second is pants IMHO. I prefer to be able to flick the rear fogs on second to warn tailgaters to back off a bit instead of having to flash the oncoming drivers with my PIAA fogs.
