johnny11
Anyone one here using BT broadband on option 3 or 4, your line will not automatically be upgraded to the possible 8meg, you will have to phone this number 0800 085 6161 and they will upgrade you and send you a free router

calmac
Just spoke to BT about mine, you have to go to http://www.faster.bt.com/index.asp and register interest, they will then contact you to arrange connection to the faster service. [/ QUOTE ] Yup thats correct - the 800kb/s though is sold by all I've seen so far as a business package. The standard for home users has gone up to 440kb/s. drpellypo
Signed up last week, was told I'd get 5mb, rather than 8, but checked last night and router was displaying 8! However... needed to firmware the router to make it work properly, and me being the asshat I am, did it over wireless. Of course, this halted half way and brok0rd the whole thing. Managed to find a recovery utility today at work though, so hopefully I should be back up and running tonight.

BT have said it can take up to ten days for the line to settle, so I guess they are still doing testing. Boo hoo.
