rabh
Bought a second hand 2004 A3, and am going to be doing the RNS-E satnav upgrade for which I need to know whether I have a BOSE system or not. Am pretty sure it doesnt, because the sound isnt that great. It has the standard Concert 2 CD head unit.
shark_90
Your head unit would display BOSE when you first turned it on if it had Bose
lottiefox
Any Bose stickers on the speakers? Head Unit should also say Bose when you turn it on but I think that can vanish if the battery is disconnected or someone alters some vag-com settings. If the speakers don't have Bose on any of them I'd say that you don't have it.
Blunteh
Wouldn't the lack of or presense of a subwoofer/amp unit on the back left of the car be a give away ? (i.e. if it has one it's a Bose, if it doesn't it isn't)
CarMad
Nope.. all A3s have a sub on the back left. BOSE might have two in some models, but even a basic 1.6 has a sub.
sufu
its a testament to the (below par) quality of the bose sound system that so many people cannot recognise they have a bose install just by the sound quality
