adyson
Hi peeps, just spoke to audi. the A3s still due mid may but been told of a slight problem. my 2.0 tdi was coming with the audi tuning box in, this according to audi is what they use to run the engine nearer its full potential than having it standard. so the a3 would be running at 170bhp not 140. apparantly due to my contract with the car (via work) im not supposed to have this tuning box. so they are going to supply the car and the tuning box seperate... but iv got to fit it!!! has anyone fitted one of these to their tdi's yet? Cupramax
Audi dont supply tuning boxes... is your dealer having laugh? There are a multitude of plug in tuning boxes out there which generally fool the ECU into over fuelling the car. A very crude but non the less effective way of tuning diesels. A remap will always give better results...
adyson
yeah thats right, they dont sell tuning boxes. they said that the 170bhp version thats being released in the summer has just basically had something similar to a tuning box fitted. there is no difference in the engine, the ecu is just making the car work to its full potential. but what ever it is, they cant fit it as it will invalidate my warrantee as it was something they were guna throw in extra to make me decide to get the car. shark_90
No way. The 170bhp engine will be 170bhp and no boxes or modifications will be needed. It won't be a 140 with a "box" to take it 170. Whoever told you that needs their head looking at, particularly if they work for Audi!
