audiquattro
Been to Fontain Audi in Iver today to try the free 5hr trial Revo remap, although much to my disapointment the guy said that Revo do not have a map listed for the ECU thats fitted to my car! (1999 A3 1.8TQ) I spoke Revo headquaters apparently they are going to look into it and hopefully make one for my ECU. Anyone else come accross this situation? jimmyp
Its probably got something to do with the fact that they only serial port map cars newer than 2000, tho i'm sure someone with some more info will be along shortly...
wcs_80
Hiya!! Im afraid most 1999 models need the eprom de-soldered and tuned in an external programmer.
audiquattro
Does this mean i'll need a "superchip" style remap?
wcs_80
Basically, the ECU is removed from the car, opened, the chip inside is de-soldered from the board, programmed in a eprom prommer, and then re-installed in the reverse.
deanos3
I have had my 99 S3 remapped by REVO, at first they were having problems with communication to the ecu but after a couple of attempts it went on with no issues.
audiquattro
Revo have turned round now and said that they can do a map for my car but it means that i'll need to go to VAGTech in Leighton Buzzard a couple of times to get it done. To be honest im not that bothered just thought i'd give the free trial a go.
