DeCal
Hey Guys, Whilst having a run back from the local bowling centre with the girlie, i come across a humped back bridge. Traveling at around 70mph, the car took off! The result was the sub get smashed and losing all the oil. Its currently parked up at home as i've just picked up an 04 M3 but obviously need it sorting out. My plan is, as i own CoolPlates.co.uk, to have this totally rebuild idealy with SuperCharger/NOS/Turbo and keep it purely for a 1/4mile promotion car, but who do i go to? Heard a lot of horrible stories about AMD and found them to be alot more expensive, what do you suggest? Regards Dean
Mook
Firstly Dean, set your budget - and also decide what power and torque output you want to achieve. Whether you decide to spend £5K or £10K will seriously influence which route you take. I've seen some threads on AmD on TsN recently, but these mostly relate to their not getting back to people, because they're so stacked with work - I've never had any problems with them and their work has been exemplary. Helfinger has now got his supercharged monster back and is also very happy with it. Hearing about someone being "a lot more expensive" is all relative, IMO - cheaper price doesn't always equal same quality of work. Best of luck, whichever route you decide to go
Calm Chris
Hump back bridges and lardy R32's don't go well together. There's been a fe issues with lower engine sump guards being ripped / knocked off. Shouldn't be any engine damage, not unless you drove home with the damage done and no oil in the car. If your insurance can cope, why not claim the damage as a road accident. Didn't you have to move sharply to avoid that 40 tonne lorry, and in doing so you hit a high kerb that did the damage? As Mook mentions there's plenty of R32 bolt on's, if you want SC or Turbo, that's £5k+ Then all the handling kit, new brakes, and the bling factor can add in as much as your budget can take. UK are pretty conservative, have a look at Vortex, the USA do seem to be even more 4nal that R32 UK owners about making R32's look the dog's dangles
