Need a little help guys. I realise that this car isn't to everyones taste.

The facelift model GT has just been launched with 296hp an increase of 20hp over the standard model. It retails at just over 30k.

I have been offered a very decent price on my A4 as a part exchange.

Just wanted an idea from people as to wether they see the car as good value for money.

Standard equipment bi-xenons, cruise, bose, heated leather seats and led rear lights.

What image does it portray.

Obviously it will be metallic black, with black seats and black roof.

I have no idea of what you would consider to be "value for money" but there is a blue one (almost the DBP of the .:R) near me that is awesome.

If all you need is 2 seats, the ability to dial in some tail-out fun, and a nice neat driving machine, you could do a lot worse.

Just make sure you take it for an extended test drive - as it is very different to drive to an A4... smile.gif

With all the coupe cabrios around now, it's a shame they couldn't produce one of these - that roof looks like a bit of a bad fit (although I'm sure it wouldn't be!)

Hmmmm. It would have to be the coupe for me, but it's your money!

I've only had a very short, roof up test drive, due to the weather. Fun, controllable car but luggage space is laughable. They do show you how to wedge a golf bag in the boot though.

I have a feeling that I may be falling into the 'audi thing' Keep trying to work out what 30k will buy me in another A4.

If I was gong to stay with Audi would want quattro. This rules out cabs unless I wait until next year.

Doesn't look anything like as nice as the Coupe imo - coming from an ex coupe owner - for awesome sound, great torquey engine, reliability, low maintanance - i don't think it can be beat price wise.

A very rare sight too - if u like to be individual?

85 Kids, she must have been catholic shocked.gif.

I would argue a 2nd hand S against a 350 and it would be nil-nil, two opinions 169144-ok.gif.

Lets just say a £30k S will not loose 40% of it value in it fist year of (secondhand sub 20k miles) ownership.

If your buying privately and without some excuse to get tax breaks, I'd take the S.

But then I'm me and your not, enjoy your car 169144-ok.gif

s4 cabs at this time of year are very rare. If you then add in prefering a manual and you are stuffed. I have a bit of a soft spot for an A4 cab of some description but am still waiting for 2 Audi dealerships to get back to me. Although in fairness to Chester Audi the guy does seem to have done a lot of research for me, just comes up empty handed.

I think it's the way the audi manages style and practicality with the fun factor thrown in, that makes it so popular.

The sales guys at chester don't help with swapping stock from other dealers.

Their after-sales is excellent but they are lazy when it comes to sourcing cars for you! smashfreakB.gif

Ring round some more dealers youself and check audi central used stock... there should be quite a few avail! 169144-ok.gif

Have you had a look at a Honda 2000? It looks less girly... blush.gif

I have driven the S2000, and whilst it is a great little car the vtec engine isn't for me. I have a very good Honda dealer locally and friends who have bought about 10 cars from them over the past 3/4 years including civic and accord type R's. Hence they were quite happy to let me out unsupervised for a decent drive. I found the whole idea of revving to 8000rpm plus, wrong. In fact it took me most of the test drive to persuade myself not to change up when I would normally.

In short then, just not a car for me, which is a shame as there are some fantastic examples out there for not that much.

I think the major concerns with the 350 are that with such a limited test drive I don't know enough about the experience to make a decision. The one I drove is now unavailable and no local dealers have a roadster demonstrator. Also I'm still a tad unsure of the image of the car. I have always seen it as a very masculine car so I am surprised by the girly comment particularly with respect to the S2000.
