Mook
[ QUOTE ] Any idea on price?.. a we looking at a couple of hundred quid? [/ QUOTE ] Probably. But I'm sure someone will buy it and restore it, then it would be worth £2K or something ludicrous like that.

NewNiceMrMe
NO WAY are you looking at a couple of hundred quid Dave. They fetch very good money indeed now and they're an accepted classic. With that sort of mileage on it's probably going to command at least £1,500 depending on condition, and possibly as high as £2,500 if the condition is better than just 'Ok'. What model is it? Have you thought of offering him £750 for it....
NewNiceMrMe
Dave - here, have a look at this. It's an absolute heap and almost certainly can't be anywhere near the price of a car with only 37k on the clock. However, it's already at £820 with a full day to go and it'll be interesting to see what it finishes on. Mark I Ford Escort on eBay
scooby_simon
Dave, MK1's are classics and will be snapped up - time to go do some digging around a Ford forum. People will be pulling his arms off for a car like this. It'l make his day when you go round and tell him he's got a classic on his hands
danksy
Shame it isn't an RS that would make a fortune Reckon about £2k if its in as reasonable condition as you say it is! Has it got FFSH etc, and MOT certs goign back?
Dave
Thanks Chris.. I'll pass it on.
NeilB
[ QUOTE ] Shame it isn't an RS that would make a fortune [/ QUOTE ] Yup a '71 RS 1600 with just 11,000 miles is going for £8,995. And a '74 RS 2000 after a rebuild is going for £15,000.
