meriafel
I have my dad's B4 Passat Estate TDI 1994L with a 1Z engine. It's done 175,000 miles. It has recently had all the belts changed when I had the water pump changed at VW dealer to cure a leak. The leak is cured but the temperature gauge on the dashboard is now showing temperatures up to 100 degrees (fluctuates between 90 and 100 for no apparent reason). I've taken the car back to the dealer and mentioned that the car is running at 100 degrees often when before I had the work done it was running at a constant 90 degrees. About 6 months ago we replaced the temperature sender so I don't think that would be the problem. A new header tank was fitted recently. Also, the temperature light on the dashboard flashes often for no reason and has done so for the last couple of years. This is the reason we changed the header tank and temperature sender but to no avail. I'm not too worried about the light on the dashboard but any ideas why the car is now running hotter since the work done to replace the water pump and belts?
