Maxyboy
i have heard that the fsi engines really benefit from optimax...but as the r32 is not fsi...and as far as i can make out...and the fuel management adjusts the car accordingly as per type of fuel put in....is it any advantage to rum optimax over normal unleaded? Mook
The recommended fuel for the R32 is 98 octane and Optimax is the only fuel that meets this spec, except for Tesco 99. Yes, you can argue that the ECU will adapt to the fuel that's in the car, but Optimax definitely makes my car run more smoothly and with more mpg. TheEdge
yes definitely agree with higher MPG running shell optimax, only filled up the car with tesco own brand last week the car isnt as swift or alert as optimax!!!!
R32North
Plus, why spend £26k on a high performance car, with a 250ps 3.2L V6, which does 18-24mpgs on average and then worry about 6p per litre on fuel............. shouldn't come into the equation! UKLooney
there will be more power available to you when running 98ron as the engine management can run more efficently

[/ QUOTE ] I worked out, when I had my R32, that I'd save about £45-£55 pa if I ran it on regular unleaded... better MPGs v's lower cost balanced out in favour of cost to the numbers mentioned. Not really worth it.......... R32s and pondering over fuel consumption, costs, savings, should not be considered at the same time - ever!

[/ QUOTE ] Not down here. 95 RON is what is written on the fuel filler flap. I run all my babies on Optimax though - so don't panic!
