slol
Does anyone have one or have any experience of these, sat nav computer pics
khutula
I saw these on the web the other day. Looks really interesting. Their web site is a bit amateurish which doesn't really inspire me. I've got a 53 plated R32 and am looking for a way to connect my iPod to the satnav unit in the best way possible. Still not decided yet! khutula
I only have a half height FIS - looks like it needs a full length one!!! Do you have a full FIS?
pheller
I have one ;-) In fact, the pictures in the link are from my Bora. :-) Yes, we're aware the website needs to be redone by someone with real graphics design ability. let me know if you have any questions about the product that I can answer. --phil

slol
I only have half height fis,so im not sure if it would work. But the price seems to be about 1200 euros which is a bit ott imho
dogbucket
I agree the price put me off as well. And as I already have an ipod setup the built in media player is tempting, but I would be unlikely to change. Very impressive tho
khutula
How have you got your iPod set up? There seems to be so many solutions. VW, Dension, Dietz and loads more - I'm still weighing up the pros and cons of them all!!
dogbucket
I guess calling mine a 'setup' makes it sound grander than it really is. I just made up a lead to plug into the AUX in connector on the rear of the MFD, and the ipod sits in a mobile phone cradle clipped to an air vent. Markallain
Can you buy an Aux lead to fit?
khutula
Not sure as I'm new to this - but I think this might work http://thebassbin.co.uk/shop/product/products_id/2610.html

Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago - yet to fit it, but there are two options - one is where the aerial passes through a "junction box" on the D+P and then on to the stereo, and you just tune the stereo to the right frequency. The other is via the Aux leads, but you need an adaptor box (about £50) to plug it into the back of the SatNav system.
khutula
Where are you gonna put the controller thing for your D+P - is there anywhere discreet that you can put it? Does it charge the iPod?
UKLooney
i fitted icelink into my glovebox, only downside is not being able to view track names etc on the head unit, and skipping to track no 187 is a bit time consuming. audio quality on par with the cd changer. i'd avoid FM modulators if at all possible... pheller
So, it is fully translated to English now, however all units are metric still. The plan is to implement unit conversions at some point, so it is possible to have English - Metric, English - Imperial, and English - US Customary. --phil

dogbucket
The proper cable is a Dietz 1213, picture of it here I made one myself, but the correct mini din plug is not easy to find so i modded something similar to fit. All the wiring diagrams with pinouts are on the above site to download in the forum.

[/ QUOTE ] The controller is going in front of the handbrake on a custom made mount and the screen is going onto another custom made mount so it can be hidden in the ashtray (i.e. slide open the ashtray, press and the screen will pop up). You can probably guess that I don't like dashboard "furniture"... Yes, the D+P charges the iPod
