Mollox
Yes, yes, but there's probably still some reason for you to be arrested anyhow

DukeDesmo
I had a Clifford alarm fitted to a BMW 320 and I removed & re-fitted it to a 323, took quite a while but I consider my own time 'free' and the dealer I was trading with wouldn't give me a better deal with than without the alarm - and it saved me buying a new alarm/remote deadlocking/window & sunroof closer. I had to 'figure out' the connections from what they were connected to as Clifford wouldn't supply a wiring diagram (although they did have some online diagrams for older models) and the new car had some major differences in the wiring but I got it in the end, although it took me the best part of a weekend to fit it all, it's always satisfying to save a few quid
mb
I removed one, you should be OK provided you are careful & the immobiliser is basic (starter motor/fuel pump etc.) better immobilisers (which I am sure later models will have) have all black wires and the better installers often remove lengths of wire so just removing the immobiliser unit won't allow the car to function
