rhyds Posted June 21, 2006 Report Share Posted June 21, 2006 (probably in the wrong forum) My bro's driving instructor's 180k mile Seat Arosa 1.4 TDi had started cutting out and not re-starting at ranom times, accompanied by "the picture of an oil-can with drips and a beep". The oil level is ok, and the car will re-start after a few attempts. From what i can gather when unsuccessfully attempting to start the car the glowplug light does not illuminate, and the electric "lift pump" does not energize. The transmision side of the cylinder head does have some oily contamination and a faint smell of diesel about it. Does anybody know of a common problem with the 3cyl VAG TDi motor?
