Alcantara Steering wheel wear

Now I know this is a material which may be susceptable to wear but since my DTM has now only covered 2.5k do you think that its OK that my steering wheel/gear knob is already showing signs of wear. In fact the steering wheel is already going slightly shiny on the alcantara sections...

Has anybody else had this problem? And if so any problems with getting Audi to replace....

You should try your dealer to see if they will replace. In my mind this is the wrong material to use on a high 'use' part of the car. Looks great when new and for press shots etc but it is not really suited to being used on the steering wheel and gear knob. I guess it provides good levels of grip, but I personally prefer leather myself.

Good luck with getting it sorted 169144-ok.gif

The thing is if the dealer replaces it now it will probably look the same in a few months/thousand miles again.

I would be inclined to bring it up with them now and get it replaced at a later date. If you tell them just before the car is 3 years old they may riggle out of it saying it is "just wear and tear" where as now you have a point!!! 169144-ok.gif
