Done a deal this evening. the car has 6500 miles and was immaculate inside and out. It drove and felt just like a new car. It is wearing cups, its hard to tell as they are virtually slicks, but they look as if they are getting to the end of their days so i'll replace those with some P-Zeros.

I have done a part trade with the R. Its not the best deal, but it is certainly the best car ive viewed. It is full spec, with the all important air-con.

And I simply cant wait for the crossover which will be hopefully Tuesdays, but if he cant clear the bankers draft in time it will have to be Wednesday.

As usual I will post a full review and pics, and will do my best to do an all over comparison with the R32.

I now just have to live with the fact, this will turn out to be possibly the highest miled CSL in the country. But it will be loved. 169144-ok.gif

Fatcat your gonna have to find something else to complain about now. But thanks for caring.

And Gareth, cheers for getting back to me, and I did listen, its just as I said, I know this is the right car and it will certainly get its moneys worth. beerchug.gif

Well it wasn’t a question of that unfortunately. I had the 'Euro Trip' to do which was originally set to be well over 3k miles (which then ended up only 1200 due to time constraints), and I wanted to do that in the R as there was 3 people in the car (one 6ft7"!) so not the CSL. Since the trip, I have been on the search. But I enjoyed finding the car myself and chatting to all the various dealers to get my own idea. otherwise I would have gone through you straight away.

As said, the deal is not the best, but the car is mint, and to me worth every penny. In regards to future value, I recon, it will cost no more than running a brand new CS and will loose no more than 16-18k in the 2-3 years. Which is still a lot, but very similar to what I lost on the R Including mods and after warranty work...)

Well anyways. Thanks again bud. And i'll let you know how I get on. Now I just have to get some sleep between now and tue/wed.... crazy.gif

Congratulations Woppum, sounds like a really nice low mileage example.

However.........Surely that was the last thing you wanted to buy isn't it?

I think you are probably one of 4 people who are going to use it and put miles on it, would it not have been better to buy one just over £30k with 20k miles on it, within a year will have wiped out the advantages, not to mention the extra you paid, of it being a low miler!

Myabe I am just jealous! wink.gif

And hey, I am talking to someone whose family spent £35k over list to buy a merc! jump.gif

Just enjoy it! 169144-ok.gif

I see your point. I just figured that if I do swap it for the new M3 in 2-3 years I will probably have put 40+k on to the car. If I buy a car with 20+k miles on it now, that will be a CSL with over 60k miles, and that could be virtually impossible to shift. There are cars about with 40k miles now, so by then, im sure mine will still only be an average miler... That is of course if I can bear to get rid of it! I can imagine the new M feeling a bit of a boat after this beast 169144-ok.gif

I hope not, but it is possible. Sometimes it will be very office based (simply Notting Hill to Ealing) other times I will go and survey the North... Liverpool, Manchester then home in a day... We shall see.

I have already arranged my first mod. Im going to drop the air conditioning down the console, then in the space provided above im going to put a 6.5 inch Pioneer (i'll tell you when I find out which model) DVD sat nav. This way it wont have to flip out and cover the air ducts. It will simply fit in like a factory unit...

Of course pics will be up straight away, just dont count on a review straight off, as I WILL be driving the fecker! 169144-ok.gif

At 6.5k does the car still need wearing in, or can I rag it as soon as oil temp is fine?

I think you are mad to add the Pioneer unit.

I would get the BMW unit fitted. ost wold be around the same, the head unit and the radio unit go for about £800-1000 on ebay and you can buy a wiring harness for £225.

Keep it looking stock. 169144-ok.gif

Thing is I have quite specific requirements. I need; DVD sat-nav, i-pod link, and bluetooth. I have been quoted a price of £1700 for a Pioneer unit which can do all of these things and something called a double din unit which will move the aircon and fit the Savnav within the console.

Also arnt the BMW sat nav units supposed to be poo? I always got the impression it was the after market units which had the latest and greatest technology and were the simplest to use???

Great news on the ragging front though!!! 169144-ok.gif

JHT as said before, im gonna have problems with track days for the foreseeable future. My policy simply doesnt cover me. Something like no track or competition use. Still, once I have the CSL is in my possession and the insurance is all fine, maybe after ive given it 6 months with no points or convictions, I can try again...

See once the CSL is sorted my next step is to see, if I can sort something out on the 430 jump.gif

I have to OK it with my company insurance first, and im already borderline due to getting the CSL. I think as said, I will wait 6 months, with (touch wood no convictions) then have another stab (third time lucky!)

What I really want first is track day lessons. But we shall see 169144-ok.gif

Blimey, a CSL, nice work. You must be one of the youngest CSL owners I would have thought.

I saw one at Romans the other day, I can't believe they didn't try to flog you that!

Have fun but be careful. I remember a post from you a few years back suggesting how you pushed your R32 too far down a lane somewhere - just remember that lesson as this baby is more of a handful!

They did!! yelrotflmao.gif They have 2 at Romans. Ben is a year older than me, its his dads company and he is head salesman now I tink. He is on to his 4th CSL and he seriously wont swap it for ANYTHING, and believe me he can if he wants! I drove hs first and second car. His second one was advertised at £43k at 17k miles. When I came to visit it, i was filthy and actually had about 24k on the clock. Bens a mate, so I consulted him first about getting one, but he couldn't offer the right price, and he said, he just cant be bothered to shift the R32. Which if fair enough when you have stock like that. In the end, this is the car I bought...

Here

I simply couldn't believe what condition its in, looks totally new. As said we sway the keys over at around 3pm tomorrow, and my heart is beating a mile per minute....
