TDiAvant
Just noticed today that my alloy wheels have very fine scratch marks all over them. Up until yesterday I was using the Autoglym wheel brush... I have now got the Meguiars wheel brush, which appears not to be causing anymore scratches. I would now like to remove these fine scratches, but I’ve got no idea what to use....
d3fy
What about some Megs Metal Polish?
Milo
I use Farcela G3 cutting compound on any fine scratches. It is really good for reducing if not removing fine surface scratches. It feels really harsh but as long as you use plenty of water with it, it's fine. I haven't seen it in any shops but you can buy it online on eBay for example I have a little bit left in my bottle if it's just a small area if you want to give it a go or test it out before you buy a bottle. TDiAvant
I've just taken some photos to try and show the scratches. You can see them but photos really do not show how bad the wheels are. Do you think it’s just a bad set of wheels I’ve got and should go back to Audi or contact Autoglym http://193.133.129.72/image/wheel1.jpg http://193.133.129.72/image/wheel2.jpg The wheels are Audi OEM and the pictures of the wheels are in my gallery http://www.tyresmoke.net/gallery/album362
s3ollie
Sorry to here about the wheels. I would try telling autoglym, but to be honest I bet they would blame it on you (pushing too hard or some )looks like the scratches are not to deep and I am told by people on here that you can use meg's scratchX or similar to remove them
TDiAvant
Thanks for the offer Milo, I will talk with Audi & AutoGlym tomorrow and see what they say. But my guess is that they will both blame each other or me... Depending on the outcome, I may take up your offer.
Hudson
I know what you are saying about the Autoglym brush, i have one and now only use it on engine parts when i need to de-grease them !! It scratched my alloys a lot, but because the scratches were so fine it took a while for me to notice them. Never again, megs all the way for me.
