pugboy
I've had this noise since buying the car last september. Basically when driving along you get a high pitched metalic howl from the NSR wheel area. You can change the pitch of the noise by shifting the car about on the road. I initially thought it was the backing plate of the rear discs, but there is clearance. Then I thought it could be a sticky caliper. I mentioned it to the garage when it went in for a service and they said the rear brakes would need changing soon anyway so this was done. The problem still persists. If it was the wheel bearing I would expect it to rumble when going round corners, but it doesn't. Now I'm thinking it could be a problem with the hub. Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions? Other than paying a fortune to have the whole lot stripped down and replaced...
