Was it right to execute Tookie Williams?

I know exactly where you are coming from and I agree entirely, but I can also remember that I was no angel when I was 17.

At that age you tend to not think of the consequesnces of your actions on others.

I also feel sorry for the guy and his family as he is going be charged with 4 counts of attempted murder and he has got 5 kids.

So many lives ruined for what?......

I fear that these days it's not so much not thinking of the consiquences, more knowing that there are no consiquences.

There were this time however.

got to agree with that, although when i think about it more, i keep coming back to one simple thing... Law was invented by society in order to regulate society, when the law fails the society, the society has to recreate the law, as this bloke has (although in a rather harsh way) confused.gif

Fiver says drugs related.

I'm sorry, but you don't get a gang forming with baseball bats to randomly target someone, and if you do they're so fuc*ing suprised that they don't do anything.. I mean would you fight back against a random attack with people with baseball bats? No, cos you're so scared.

This is definatly more to this.

As for the 'underclass' comment.. SLEEP5.GIF

I was referring to the vandals as underclass.

As you pointed out, likely there is more to this than meets the eye but in a world of random attacks on people and "happy slapping" and suchlike it wouldn't surprise me if the group of lads were bored after a drinking session and decided to go play thugs.

It always amuses me how tolerant you are of Chavs and Neds.

IMO, in a few years time we are going to see a full on 'civil war' between the security forces employed by 'decent' folk, and the chav / ned / scum underclass that prey on them and their material wealth.

The only language these people understand is force, disrespect and nasty nasty violence.

We really really do need to punch back...and hard.

I know you will disagree, but hey ho, I'm sick of seeing my police force and CPS be soft on these people, and my tax dollar keep them in the manner in which they think they deserve...

I'm only tolerent because of the way that it's all portrayed..

Chav 'scum' runining the world bla bla... I know plenty of 'chav scum' and they've got their bad bits & their good bits, but just a question: would you respect society if you were automatically branded 'scum' if you wear burberry and have a big exaust?

Lots of these stories have much more to them, what if this guy nicked money off these kids or owed money (no excuse, but if you go underground, then you accept things like that will happen) but all we see is what the 'scum' have done. I agree that there are some psychos out there (the kids who attack firefighters for example), but the 'civil war' mentality makes it worse.

I guess what I believe is that pretty much everyone is a good bloke. Minority of one, but oh well! grin.gif

Well one of us needs to do it 169144-ok.gif

I take your point though - there is context to everything.

I do still stand by the fact that parts of the UK are going (and are going to have to...) to resemble South Africa soon though - gated communities, private security patrols, anti car jacking devices...

Isn't that the problem though? If people gate off communities with CCTV, security patrols etc etc then you split society & breed resentment between both the 'chavs' and the others..

I've got some proper pikey mates who have done some crazy things, but when they tell you why, it's not as bad as the mainstream press would have made out.

Not to say that some chav's arn't absolutly crazy (the one who stamped on a blokes head on the bus is Glasgow comes to mind), but burberry and not respecting authority doesn't make you an evil person. 169144-ok.gif

Well I just followed that link and had a read, unfortunately I spent most of yesterday in a drunken haze so I had not heard about it.

This country and its bollotics are taking us down the pan.

Only in the UK would a "Victim" be put up in front of a court with attempted murder, its like that Farmer Tony whatever his name is - he was the victim who like most had to take the law into his own hands.

I guess if this guy hadn't been so hot headed he may have avoided it, but reading further it doesn't sound like this was the first time so they got what they deserve, feckers!

Issue now is that the guys family will have a worse time of it, with the boys family and friends taking further revenge. It won't stop would it?

The courts actualy need to stand up and let this guy go - but some GAY law lord who didnt get it yesterday and has the hump will probably incarcerate the poor guy.

Shocking state really/i'm off my soapbox!
