Ari
Driving back from lunch today and as I went across a roundabout I noticed what looked like a frog eye Sprite approaching the roundabout from another junction. And something didn't look quite right about it. So I glanced in the mirror as I exited the roundabout to see it driving onto the roundabout going the other way and from the back I'd swear it was an MX5! Any clues, or am I going mad? peterb
A Mk1 MX5 with the pop-up headlights stuck in the up position?
Soapsuds
not 100% sure, but i think you could get a fibre-glass insert in place of the pop-ups and put the standard lamps in..... gave the frog-eye look....... It was a while back the had the MX, but sure i saw this once and PMSL!!! Truly awful look!
Ari
[ QUOTE ] A Mk1 MX5 with the pop-up headlights stuck in the up position? [/ QUOTE ] No, definitely not, the headlights were inset from the edges more toward the middle of the bonnet like the frog eye Sprite.

NewNiceMrMe
They still remind me of a TVR 280i from the 1980's - and they were a lovely looking car. Very classic in styling.
Tipex
Not quite a frogeye conversion but, there is a blue mk1 MX5 I see occasionally that has had the pop up lights removed, and clear perspex 'bumps' fitted instead that have the lights inside them, looks very odd! jennywren_1
Not too up on cars being a girlie ( and blonde lol) but was told it was a frogeye, so if its not then what is it!! would be good to find out proper conversion that it is. Tipex
That's a Barchetta, not an MX-5 Thats what I thought at first, but it didn't quite look right, closer inspection revealed it to be a slightly barried MX, I'll try and get a pic if I see it.
