Woppum
Looks like there are a few about now. Saffron have one in blue and black, and Romans have this example in red and black...: Anyway, I still hate it, just thought you'd like to see a few pics... MOSE
Fantastic power and fantastic car, but looks FECKING AWFUL!!!!
Woppum
Its not real... Romans have a few of those just to inflate the cars wow factor. Having said that they did have a plate on an Enzo M15 which was real...
TriGGa
okie doke that car is just immense though, must have been near enough impossible to park it, it must be impossible to drive at "crawling speeds" I dont think there will be many about to be spotted on the roads though, unlike the slr now
Woppum
I think it will be an easy car to drive at snail pace. Its made as an everyday car... No harder to drive than a Bentley GT ive heard...

TriGGa
wow!.. thats pretty impressing, i take it though, considering the price of the car they dont do test drives? iirc from my ride in a db9 that was pretty hard 2 keep at low speeds, on a back side road, we was up to 40 in no time at all
Woppum
Well it depends. If they know you you may buy it they will let you out in it. But they wont let any Tom off the street come in and have a go. Its up for £1.25m, but with these things, 'if you have to ask, you cant afford it!'. http://www.romansinternational.co.uk/
rs32
not so sure you'd care what colour it is or how it looks when you floor the accelerator. 0-100 in stupid 'o clock time. 0-200 also in a stupid time. as a solution to an obsessive target - 1000bhp in a road car that supposedly drives at low speed like a hatchback - truly amazing. But it doesn't look great I'll agree.
Woppum
I know the owners so im going to have to ask what its like, and if my theory is correct. I just cant imagine that car being nearly as much fun on the road (or track) as a car like a F430 or Pagani... Well over 2 tones with passenger people! fjfr
Woppum, I 100% agree with you on the Bugatti. A million euros for what? A reallyy heavy, ugly car. I can't see the point in buying one.. it doesn't do any one thing well and the price tag represents 3 or four amazing cars.. (regardless of ari's argument that people who can afford one will have everything, it's still a million euro & I'd rather buy a boat or a flat.) TriGGa
just did a quick yahoo search, and apparenttly they can be both LDH and RHD, but dont hold me to it. I saw a clip, may have been on here? of a veyron going round a track with an elise ( or exige? ).. and it comfortably held its position behind the lotus with almost no effort at all. TriGGa
does the £1.25m price tag make this the most expensive car of all time?
Woppum
Ok ok. Its not just weight that plays the part. Its power too. Look at the ring time for the Exige for example and then compare it to other cars. Another good example of a very fast but heavy car is the SLR. Which could arguably said has a better chaise do to the wheelbase and rwd configuration than the Bugatti. But a CSL (for example ) with far less weight can still beat it round a 14 mile track with great long bits.. The question is how fast do we think the Bucrappy could get round the ring...? Or down your fave B road for that matter!? But thats not the point of it is it!
Woppum
[ QUOTE ] does the £1.25m price tag make this the most expensive car of all time? [/ QUOTE ] Still no. The Bugatti Royal still holds the record with something silly like £15m.. .
Woppum
But then that poses a good question... What is more amazing, the cars performance or the cars price (and status..?)
TriGGa
I think the cars performance is still phenomenal (sp?) but the status of having one will be far more important, and i think ultimately.. it will be the basis of hte legacy it leaves
fjfr
Looking at the times and comparing them to the S3 (o/t I know), it fairs much better than I would have thought.. 8.41 is faster than an exige, boxter, alpina B10, S4... I thought that those cars would demolish it.. and I see the Murcialago is only 2secs faster than the gallado.. What makes a good ring car then?? Pincher
I wouldn't buy it purely because I wouln't be able to get the keyfob in my pocket - it's feckin' huge! (The key, not my pocket )
Woppum
I wouldn't buy it because if I did, id feel like a fecking to55er!! Seriously, I love cars and I hate to think this excessive blob of opulence is to be pinned up in kids bedrooms taking the place of the F40, Pagani etc before it... bazza_g
[ QUOTE ] The question is how fast do we think the Bucrappy could get round the ring...? [/ QUOTE ] Afraid I still love the Veyron - it looks the nuts especially in the classic red/black paintjob. Personally I think its 'ring time will be quite special - even if its weight lets it down on cornering ability, there are enough straights for it to really stretch its legs getting up to some proper sillly speeds
Woppum
Yeah got to agree with you unfortunately. Its not going to be slow. But people thinking its going to be faster than say a Carrera GT with half the Power and costing a 1/4 of the price are going to be shocked... In fact id be surprised if it will be much faster than a 30k CSL!!!
theduisbergkid
You're all talking bollocks. Its the most beautiful car in the world. I want one. So there.
