Sheeps
I've just heard that my brother was involved in a head-on smash in Northumberland at the weekend. The other car, believe it or not, contained: 4 adults 5 children 3 pushchairs 4 suitcases This car, came around a bend on the wrong side of the road with full beams on. My brother swerved to avoid. Amazingly, no one was killed. Although my brother has vowed never to drive again. Where do these people come from?!
AvantSE
Doesn't surprise me - there are loads of idiots out there. I once followed 2 cars up a blind hill, 60mph limit. As the second car was halfway up, and had no visibility of anything coming the other way, she decided to overtake the first one... slowly. Quite how there was nothing coming is purely luck, otherwise there would've been a head-on at a closing speed of around 100-120mph. And why? She trundled past it, then continued to trundle along on a clear stretch of road where overtaking would've been perfectly safe. Every time I go up that hill now, I feel I am taking my life in my hands.
Sheeps
Idiots! I'm just scanning some local news sites to try and find more info but stuff like this doesn't hit the news unless someone dies - is that what it takes to warn people about the dangers of being idiots!? AvantSE
As it happens it's not, but I think I know where you mean. It is actually a little back road that goes from Sedgefield to Sadberge in Co Durham. The hill in question is adjacent to the National Canine Defence League (NCDL) buildings, or Dog's Trust (now they have dumbed-down). It's a brilliant road with loads of twists, off-camber sections, and hills. Unfortunately the majority who use it can't drive it safely. Rustynuts
I installed the heating in the kennels at the NCDL, many years ago.
RacingRed
I hope your brother's fine and comes around, it would be awful if an incident like that took a good driver off the road. I can guarantee you it won't stop the other idiot from driving, most likely in the same manner. Any chance the other car was uninsured, unlicensed driver? That wouldn't suprise me either.
