Just spotted an 2004 CSl for sale, with A/c, only 8000 miles on it for £29995 - I thought this was a very good price - what do you guys think?

Don't know more about it re: service history and 1200 mile check, but any one in the market for one should check it out IMO. I would love it myself, but don't get on with the seats!!

Its for sale at Whithouse Chrysler Jeep Tonbridge - I saw it on Auto Trader

Sounds like a great deal. I paid £9k more than that for a car with the same mileage, but it did have every conceivable option and was immaculate as new...

If most of those 8k miles were done on the track, it would be similar to a 40k mile road car... Thats worth finding out.

That makes the car about 18 months old.

Thats about 444 miles per month.

From my experience (and location), trackdays take a toll of about anywhere from between 150 miles and 700 miles per track.

Some tracks are very hard on a car, whilst some are pretty easy (the 'ring for one is fairly easy on your car).

The previous owner would have had to do alot of trackdays in 18 months to rack up even 75% of the recorded mileage.

I should'nt worry too much as the car is still under warranty - just check with the main dealer on servicing and any repairs, ask the previous owner for recepits of tyres, brakes etc etc.... you will soon build up a picture of the general health of the car.

I dont think mine was. In my mind some old man had it, who possibly bought it by mistake. Of course after he had taken deliver, he realised the car wasn't for him so he locked it in his barn, where a friendly colony of ants decided to make the CSL their home. Of course the nice old man owner would take it for a spin every now and again, but only for blasts down the motorway, and never going over 3krpm. This went on until the day, he decided to trade it in for something with less performance but certainly more comfortable... a camel. He bought a camel ROLLEY~14.GIF

Of course the morel of the story is, my car was never tracked! 169144-ok.gif
