brian1979
got some money burning a hole in my pocket now and really peed off at how sluggish my cab feels (i came from having a heavy modded mkiv golf 1.8t). Has anyone remapped theirs and what sort of performance gain...and was it worth it? Most I can see bhp increase too is around 190, which is poor considering my 150 golf remapped up to 206? lottiefox
I seem to remember that CabLad on here had his 1.8T remapped at AMD in Bicester with their Stage Two including the Milltek exhaust. I think he felt it made a significant difference and AMD will do a rolling road so you can see the output afterwards. Not sure what he got it to, I do remember it was a hot day as well when it was done so the RR would not have been that fab. The 1.8T is very tunable, but the cab is quite a heavy car. May be worth chatting to AMD or similar? A4 cab AMD linky
Cupramax
The A4 cab is not a street racer by any stretch of the imagination so if your expecting comparable performance to your Golf I think your going to be dissapointed, even my 3.2 isn't what I'd call rapid, dont forget they weigh upwards of 1650kg!!! The 1.8T in your Cab should give close to 200hp on a remap and if you've come from a tuned Golf you already know most of what can be done, its the same engine just inline instead of transverse.
