Milo
Have many people fitted 19" wheels to their B6 or B7s, particularly 5 arm (RS6 style) wheels? What are the potential pitfalls other than more expensive tyres i.e. ride? Also, what is the offset of OEM 18x8J A4 wheels? Ta
Cupramax
Standard wheels are ET43, I went for 18's on mine from 17's standard, 19's are, as you've said, more expensive but I doubt you'd notice the difference in ride if you've got OEM 18's now. Milo
Excellent So if standard 18" OEM wheels are 18x8 ET43, what is the recommended offset for 19x8.5 wheels? Would it be ET35?
Cupramax
You should be able to work it out with this... http://gs.tolan-hoechst.com/tirecalc.htm
Milo
Thanks I was looking for something like that earlier via Google but couldn't track it down Does anyone have any pictures of B6/B7 A4s on 19" RS6 wheels? I'm sure I've seen some posted on here before but can't find them and Google was a waste of time

All I typed in was wheel offset calculator and hey presto
Milo
"Tyre and wheel calculators for amatuers" Only found spam It confirms what I thought; 19x8.5 ET40 with 235/35/19 tyres pushes the tyre 3mm outboard which I can't imagine being a problem unless anyone knows otherwise? I've just had a thought though, can you fit 19x8.5 wheels on an A4 or do they have to be 19x8?

Avus_Bub
Here you are Milo........... [ QUOTE ] I am very pleased with the results and to be honest the ride hasn't really changed since the 18's came off.I was a little worried that the car would become tiresome to drive but with the s-line suspension already being firm their is almost no difference. [/ QUOTE ] I must admit I’m softening to the 19’s. TBH come tire time it will probably be cheaper to but a set of 19’s than 4 new ‘premium’ tyres! Milo
Excellent Bub, thanks Where did you get that from if you don't mind me asking and do you know who's car it is? I would be interested to know what offset they went for. If the wheels are 8J then to keep the OEM set-up they should be ET43. I can only find ET35 and ET45 at the moment and I have no desire to be using spacers if I can help it
Korkster
Are you thinking of going to the 5 spokes on the new car?
Milo
Basically at the moment, the new car is coming with 15 spoke wheels but I'm thinking about taking them off and selling them when they're brand new and using the money to upgrade to 19" In fact, I'm trying to gauge whether anyone would be interested in buying a set of 5 brand new 18" 15 spoke OEM alloys with new Dunlop SP9000 tyres here

Fergy
Is there really that much difference between the 18's and 19's?
P_G
Have you had a look at CraigyB'set of RS6's Milo, he's flogging some in the market place / the A8 forum. Don't get me wrong, I still really like the RS6 wheels, however regardless of 18" or 19" don't you run the risk of loooking like any other S-Line, the reason you took the 15 spokes in the first place? I'd quite understand if you had given up on the 15 spokes for cleaning purposes, hat off to you for keeping them clean thus far.
Milo
Yup, and I've PMed him but they are 19x9J so won't fit As for the 15 spoke wheels, I still really like them but I fear cleaning them twice a week in winter is going to give me arthritis I actually contacted the dealer about changing the new car to RS6s but was too late. Had I been able to get OEM 18" RS6s from new, I would have probably went for them. However as I can't, if I put RS6s on after it is delivered I would go for 19" to make it a bit different. I appreciate there is a not a greal deal of visual difference betwen 18" and 19" but enough in my opinion. As for looking like other s-lines, you're absolutely right in saying that's why I went for the 15 spoke originally. However the new car is in Avus Silver which in itself is quite exclusive. For example, as far as I'm aware the special edition is the first time Avus has been available on the B7 A4 unless you paid £1600ish for 'any Audi colour'. I would imagine copies of the 15 spoke wheels may well soon appear on eBay anyway; the TT Quattro Sport ones are already available
Chav
I thought 9J would fit? A chap on audiworld put them on his cab no problem. think you need to be careful about tyre size though. Mine stick out 1cm more than OEM, and still looks to be room for even wider wheels without too much scraping along inner arch.

Mind don't go for the B7 RS4 reps, I saw a Noggy S4 cab with them on yesterday and it looked pants. They are not concave enough and just don't look right when you have seen the originals. I would feel short changed.

copster
I'm also thinking of upgrading from my 18" DTM wheels to some 19" (type yet to be decided.....) Problem is like Milo i don't really want to get into lowering the car (yet!) Is the A4 gonna look like a 4x4 without lowering though - anybody running 19's without lowering and have any pics?? P_G
Mine rides on 19's but the S4's run slightly lower than A4 anyway, but to give you an example
